In 2018, to prepare for the release of Yakuza 6 International version, RGG and SEGA USA decided to make 10 chapter of Yakuza Digital Interactive Manga.

Random tidbit of the day
In Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, Ichiban Poundmate call animation is based on Kamen Rider transform (or Henshin).
There are many influence, but the most obvious one is Kamen Rider Ex-Aid
The fact that after a fight, if Majima is in Pirate mode, he will simply return to normal by putting his swords back into the sheath feel like something out of Sentai/Tokusatsu
I feel that in RGG, there are someone who care about this
It kinda crazy how I HATE the fact that super power is a thing in Ishin Kiwami
But then I'm completely hype when we finally able to use Majima's Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Maybe because it is just complete in Majima character to be able to do crazy shit like this
Two of the lesser known product if Yakuza series - Yakuza 0 and Ishin Companion app.
Exclusive to the Japanese version, player can download companion apps to fight tournament (in Y0) and do dungeon (for Ishin), so that they can grind their character when not using the PS3-PS4.
A street fight in Infinite Wealth will net Ichiban 60 USD.
So in theory, if Ichi want to buy the latest Dragon Quest, beating people on the street would be his most viable strategy
Takeuchi Ryoma (Kiryu new live actor) learn martial art to prepare for the role under Asakura Mikuru.
The same Asakura Mikuru who get a guest role in Infinite Wealth.
Now it make a lot of sense why they include Asakura in the game.
(Repost because google translate is iffy)
One thing I noticed about Infinite Wealth rendition of Kamurocho, is that the surrouding area now suddenly have a layout.
It seem that the next game, presumably Judgment 3 or another spin-off, will feature an expanded Kamurocho, in order to compete with the scale of Ijincho.
Me during Yakuza: Like A Dragon - "Arakawa the killer, what a cringe nickname, could they choose anything more on the nose than that?"
Me after chapter 2 of Infinite Wealth: "He earned that, and I will show him respect
Happy birthday to Nakaya Kazuhiro.
Thank you for being Ichiban, Nishiki and Izo.
I love this photo of him, but sadly can't find a higher quality version of it
Just like I guess, RGG pushing YK1 over Y0 is basically a brand synergy move for people coming to the series because of the upcoming TV show.
20$ is a fair price, I think
Takaya Kuroda just voiced a promotional video for Gokushufudo - The Way of The House Husband. His character is supposedly Tatsu's late aniki.
Kinda funny, because I often seen crossover fandom between Yakuza and Gokushufudo, and now Takaya Kuroda have a small role in it
Tall
Muscular
Wear green
Being friend with Majima
-> Close enough, welcome American Saejima
Side note: The fact that we see a heat action from this character angle could mean that side character in pirate battle could have limited amount of heat move
How I sleep knowing tomorrow, some of the first Like A Pirate gameplay from TGS gonna be posted by people unfamiliar with the combat system, resulting only about 5% of it potential being show
This might be the biggest discourse I've seen in the longest time... Yong is not going to do well mentally and I actually fear for him.
Like, yeah, he's bad at acting as Kiryu but many people go really far raising their points. I will watch and see.
Sprawling, enthralling, and packed with dynamic brawling, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth isn’t just the best turn-based Like a Dragon game, it’s one of the greatest games in the entire series.
Recurring element of the Yakuza series.
If Kiryu for some reason fight at the Tojo HQ, someone will toss him a sword so that he can do a brief sword duel
While video game actors are on strike for fair pay & protections against AI, Amazon Games’ CEO has said they need more AI in game development in part because “for games, we don't really have acting”

"I owe you an apology, I wasn't really familiar with your game"
My reaction toward an IGN presenter after they pull off this sick ass combo to show how grappling hook can be use in combat
Now that myself impose no spoiler posting period is over
Man, I love that Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi (Yuki Tsuruno) retain his kicking ability in game
Though, in hindsight, I should left him hit out of respect
- The year is 2026, RGG Studio finally release Yakuza Kiwami 3 (now named "Like A Dragon 3 for the west")
- The game is done beautifully in Dragon Engine, and faithful for the most part
- After the end credit, this scene happen
- "Andre Richardson will return"
Literally just noticed this, but Ichiban "Apartment" (more like a shed) doesn't have a bathroom, so he bath and do laundry outdoor, with only a tarp as a cover
Bro must have been paid minimum wage at Hello Work
don't know if I should post this or not, but if you think I done this in poor taste, lmk.
So, I just purchase a membership thing from RGG YouTube channel and beside a few exclusive video, there are also high res wall paper that hven't been published yet.
I don't wanna raise anyone hope up, but Yokoyama seem to be impressed with the performance of one female character we never seen before.
It would be incredible if this female character is Yuko, Nishiki sister
The realization that when this scene get dubbed in Like A Dragon Gaiden, Yong Yea performance gonna get ripped apart comparing to Daryl Kurylo just hit me like a truck
I hope his mental health can take it
Let just forgot about Yong Yea questionable singing skill and focus on how the English version of Honolulu City Lights slap just as hard as the Japanese version.
Major props to Chitose English voice actress, who I can't find the name yet
One of the small things I like about IW, is that Han Joongi skill set having less Boxing moves, and more knife skill.
While it was done for gameplay reason, I feel that it show Kim Yeonsu slowly regaining his idendity. He doesn't have to fight like the original Joongi anymore.
My favorite type of people are those who watched the full Like A Pirate trailer, which include these 2 scene, and then leave a comment on facebook/youtube/twitter:
"Is this game turnbased, or beat em up?"
Like, bruh, you can't tell? I understand if it a screenshot, but it not
The idea of "Yakuza live action series should have include karaoke, because without it the series is dead" must be the most reddit coded thing I've read today
Kinda a small thing to be happy about, but Infinite Wealth finally allow character to use their casual outfit when equiping job.
This is a not thing that available in Y7, and somewhat annoyed me to the point that I have to use mod
@terracottahart
I remember a post that say something along the line of "In a game filled with human trafficker, serial killer and weapon dealer, the Yakuza fandom will still hate the lady who is slightly rude"
It still ring true, and Makoto isn't even rude
The whole "The people making Yakuza TV series didn't play the game" is overblown because if you actually look beyond the headline. The only major cast member not playing is Kento Kaku (for the role of Nishiki). This suggest that Nishiki depiction gonna be different. (1)
Seeing now that the reception to the Hostess minigame is pretty mixed (I somewhat enjoy it), I think that First Summer Uika dodge a bullet when she fail the competition and get casted as Akame
- Yokoyama, June, 2023
"Kiryu proposal is not an indication of Kaoru return"
- RGG Summit, September, 2023
*Kaoru teased as a substory character*
- December 2023
*Kaoru get a prominent role in story*
Yokoyama lie as natural as he breath, I love him
How the counter mechanic in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth should have been
Also: Accurate representation of a street fight that have become nothing more than an annoyance to Kiryu
90% of Like A Dragon Gaiden problem could be solved if the Daidoji just give Kiryu a gun
Kinda proud of myself that I have implemented a reload mechanic to this
Apparently, in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, some poundmate work as a temporary party member.
This could open the door for character like Kaoru, Akiyama, Kazuki&Yuya,... to fight along side your team.
Let hope for a Kiryu x Kaoru combo.
Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth Saya Hiyama and Yui Komaki interview, translated.
It seem that now, having a cameo in RGG game is basically "made in" in the Japanese biz.
Up next: Kei-Kson
Yokoyama: The localization work as intended, nothing changed without my permission.
The anti localization weirdo: "What do YOU know about YOUR franchise that YOU co-create?'
Even when this line doesn't get voice acted, the fact that Kiryu using the word "braddah" make me burst out laughing.
And it believable too, because Kiryu obviously the type of person to use whatever English word he happen to pick up
Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth Gachapin (green dinosuar) and Mook (red yeti) interview - translated.
I'm really surpised that RGG make a whole facescan model for 2 mascot suit
I still don't think Kiwami 3 would release next year. But that being said, should Kiwami 3 happen, then RGG is holding the ingredient for the most annoying Majima boss moveset
Kiwami 3 next year? (Discussion)
Considering mainline Yakuza titles may now take years to develop, we may not see another Gaiden next year.
Instead, Kiwami 3 announcement will take its place. Which makes sense, 20th anniversary, no Judgment, can't develop Gaiden.
Thoughts?
@dragon_of_dojim
I disagree, and this is because of a personal experience thing, but Majima fight like a proper martial artist with a mixture of dirty move, which make him perfect for the Brawler vibe.
While Kiryu fight is boiled down to "hit as hard as I can", which perfect for "Thug" name.
Yong Yea this, Yong Yea that...
How about we acknowledge the true travesty of Like A Dragon Gaiden dub, which is the fact that they removed Akame wink when she teasing Kiryu.
This is cuteness erasure 😤
