โฆ or the even more gonzo "nothing below 25ยข" plan: what American *wouldn't* want their penny jars to deliver an immediate 25x return?
@jp_koning Inflation being inflation, it might be worthwhile to go ahead rebase penny, nickel and dime to 25 cents & round to nearest quarter. However our use of post-retail price sales tax instead of pre-retail price VAT may mean rounding to nearest quarter screws up state/local tax base.

@MarkBahner @RobAtkinsonITIF @deanwball @hamandcheese โฆ was your hope for all expenditures you believe unconstitutional that magically one morning Congress would have epiphany, embrace your interpretation, apologize for oversteps & then repeal them in orderly & gradual manner? such wishcraft would never shrink overgrown gov! /

@CaHSRA in what year will anyone be able to take the full Sacramento to San Diego ride - claimed possible for a full system cost of $45B, back when your project was sold to voters in 2008 - and how much will have been spent before that ride?
@tedgioia in 2008, to pass the first $9B in bonds, voters were told in the official voter guide that a full San Francisco to San Diego system would cost $45 billion. โฆ

@MarkBahner @RobAtkinsonITIF @deanwball @hamandcheese as a strict constitutionalist who believes that spending is unconstitutional, why wouldn't you be happy about that (if in fact it's more than a transient glitch)?

@MarkBahner @RobAtkinsonITIF @deanwball @hamandcheese supposedly PEPFAR's ok'd by Trumpists for continued funding. I don't think any of them look at it through your monomaniacal "constitutional" lens. but you argue it's unconstitutional, & thus funding must be stopped? I guess good thing you're not in any decisionmaking roles!

@MarkBahner @RobAtkinsonITIF @deanwball @hamandcheese fwiw: supposedly PEPFAR continuing. & DOGE's case against other USAID programs isn't necessarily your narrow "they're unconstitutional" frame - they have many objections & potential rationales! you're the only one obsessing about a James Madison (d. 1836) quip about constitution.
