@cjmtuttle @terrych30875627 @WMidtowns90798 @TerriGreenUSA Yes. I agree that hyperbole is a common thread. But once the connection with Hellenistic Cynicism is made, you have to at least consider that Jesus & his followers were beggars.

@thedavidwolcott @FrMichaelHinton But you’ve never had a mystical union experience, right? So how would you compare the 2? You have a low opinion of mystic authors. So you can’t even compare second-handedly, right?

@thedavidwolcott @EdKomoszewski @RobertMBowmanJr Pastors re-marry thousands of divorced people every week. Then the church literally throws a party in celebration. Everyone dresses up and expresses PRIDE in these physical/spiritual unions.

@thedavidwolcott @EdKomoszewski @RobertMBowmanJr I agree. Unfortunately, Jesus allegedly disagreed with both of us???

@cjmtuttle @terrych30875627 @WMidtowns90798 @TerriGreenUSA I want to be rich. I want to be well-fed. I want to laugh. I want others to speak well of me. So…WOE…to me, right? But I have never met anyone who didn’t want this way of life.

@cjmtuttle @terrych30875627 @WMidtowns90798 @TerriGreenUSA I confess that I am consumeristic. I confess that I give only UNTIL it hurts. So I must honestly confess that I live in denial of Jesus’ Way of incarnation, crucifixion & resurrection.

@cjmtuttle @terrych30875627 @WMidtowns90798 @TerriGreenUSA What’s your interpretation of the “camel through the eye of a needle” analogy? Doesn’t it mean that it’s virtually impossible for rich people to follow Jesus?

@cjmtuttle @terrych30875627 @WMidtowns90798 @TerriGreenUSA Thank you. DBH says that the translators have basically toned down the NT’s requirements for radical giving

@TipsyArmchair Oh… 18% < 25% Women in STEM < Men in teaching It’s so hard to Twitterbate you because I have to fact check all your sources and do ALL the math. You are an “X-friend” (maybe even BFF), but PLEASE:

@TipsyArmchair Are you aware that there are more foreign-born STEM workers in America than there are female STEM workers in America. Maybe we need better STEM education where students are trained to do the math before they form opinions.

@TipsyArmchair STEM is a broad term. 40 million Americans work in STEM. Teaching is a narrow term. 4 million Americans are teachers. So …duh… More women work in STEM than there are men AND women in teaching. Do the math before you form an opinion.

@TipsyArmchair “Slipping”??? Is this a competition between men and women? So you should favor higher salaries for teachers. Me too. We agree 🍺🥃

@TipsyArmchair Are you saying that 25% of STEM professionals being women is a bad thing? Are you saying 25% of teachers being men is too low?

@TipsyArmchair The MORE problematic system for healthcare is The Middle-Man system where private insurance companies KILL thousands of Americans by practicing medicine without a license (delay, deny, defend).
