1/2 Mariah gives deference to older artists. Even though Whitney debuted only five years before Mariah and was only six years older, she still probably still paid her some degree of deference, even if not to the extent of people who are much older like Aretha.

Sometimes I feel like trying to push anything other than SEC football in Alabama is a losing battle. Too many folks in power who refuse to let anything else gain any traction at all. Old and set in their ways.

Maybe it’s because by the time Gen Z came of age, every conceivable combination of fashion had already been “discovered” and had its day. So now we just kind of mix and match older styles. Gen Z’ style seems to me a mix of 80s preppy and the t-shirt/jeans dressed down 70s style.

This is literally it. The way they both approached the song - not trying to out-sing each other and feeding off of each other’s voices - lead to a Platinum certified classic. You couldn’t get two divas on a ballad like that together today, they’d try to outsing each other.

So why even have a jury trial if the judge can just do whatever the hell he/she wants and not give a damn about the jury? Are we now back to having show trials in Alabama? The death penalty is barbaric anyway. The state should not be putting people to death.

I don’t think that’s it. The Stallions have brand recognition going back to the original USFL meaning old heads are familiar with the name and branding. I think we are still fighting an uphill battle with this “if it’s not Bama or Auburn, it’s not worth my time” mentality.

As the old saying goes, it’ll probably take a few “very prominent funerals.” Older folks here aren’t really known for being willing to bend. Hell.. Auburn had to wait until Bear Bryant DIED to get their home dates for the Iron Bowl on campus and away from Legion Field.

2/2 Mariah is also one of the last “old school artists” in the sense that she believes there is a “proper” and “right” way to do things. This was a duet so Mariah cared about the “blend” between their voices being right. Here, that meant Whitney being the lead voice in the duet.

People always think I’m crazy when I say this. Glad there are many who share my view. 1980 was the most consequential election since 1932 (or maybe 1976 as it set up 1980). A Democrat win in 1980 - be it Carter or Ted Kennedy - means a very different country today.

Ehhh. Vintage fur is better than faux. Just no newly produced fur. Eventually as the vintage fur coats break down, they will naturally phase out of existence. But faux fur does not break down and is made out of stuff that’s not exactly the best for the environment.

Lol. She was too stupid to notice he switched it up on her. Her first lie was she was out dancing to which he replied “if y’all were going shopping why didn’t you check in?” She gave an excuse to why she didn’t tell him she was shopping (not dancing)! 🤣🤣

I can agree with that. But its capacity would need to be greatly reduced to somewhere around the 25-30k range - let it remain a neutral site for high school games - but a 75k seat stadium is too big to keep as a museum without it failing further into disrepair.

Now they need to release You, Sweet Passion, Almighty Fire and La Diva. Re is gone now, she’s not here to protest. I heard they were never released to music platforms because they were not commercially successful and she tended to want to forget that era + personal turmoil.
