I’m old enough to recall when the SEC and Gas and Fuel were state owned assets and frankly the cost, the service and the infrastructure was 10x better than now. In Saudi Arabia the resources are state owned and the people pay ZERO tax. Not a cent. Why? Because the resources that are owned by the state are used to provide services so that people aren’t stolen from in the form of taxes. FYI, people like Hancock used his government position to scope out rich lands and then left, started his own business and purchased the land armed with the information he gained on the tax payers dime. I’m certainly not a “communist” but I do believe the state is responsible to protect the people from vampire capitalism which is exactly what we are facing today.
