I think it’s a great light shed on solo GPS, but the article needs more work and lacks perspective and completeness. The list is missing some names but also the article paints a picture that somehow is not accurate. - Solo GP doesn’t mean one man show - Many solo GPs are not solo because they are too small or can’t afford to have more GPs as suggested, and are very institutional and professionalized. - solo GP can be by design, or circumstantial, it’s definitely not a one size fits all. There are many nuances. If you need more info, happy to point you in the right direction.

lol, that’s really not the point here though. . There is a reason why those loopholes are not closed, and won’t be. Wealth tax is often there for cosmetic reasons to appease a certain part of the voters, but everyone knows higher taxation through wealth tax doesn’t work. The regions who shelter their residents form wealth tax, such as Madrid or Andalusia, are the driver of the Spanish economy, representing the majority of the country’s GDP, with the fastest GDP growth,the highest GDP per capita (30% higher than Spanish average), lowest unemployment rates etc in the country. The regions who enforce wealth tax are at the end of the queue and struggling.

I think one of the contributing factors is folks ( nothing personal as you are not the only one) tweeting about issuing termsheets after less than 24h of DD/referencing. It contributes to this falsehood that starting a business and getting funded is easy, that the barrier to entry and access to capital is very low for entrepreneurs. As a result, its attracts market participants who (unknowingly) are drawn in for the wrong reasons or motivation or dont have what it takes to start a business or scale it meaningfully (grit, resilience, patience, dedication) and are terribly unprepared for the excruciating entrepreneurial journey, thinking anyone, anything and everything can get funded, easily. Now, one might argue your referencing and DD processes are the most efficient and data driven etc in the market, and whilst this might be true for some, it’s not for 99% of VCs out there, and certainty gives a false representation of the market and creates this bias. So change starts right here with you, and folks similar to you, particularly with the platform you have. If you want to see a higher bar or meaning for entrepreneurial endeavors, you need to raise your own bar as an investor, or at the very least how you communicate about it. With the great reach that you have, comes greater responsability. My 2 cents.
