Concerned about the security alert on Empire Street, and my thoughts are with those who have been evacuated. I'm sure it's very worrying for everyone affected. An emergency support centre has been set up for residents at the Olympia Leisure Centre. Drivers should avoid the area.

@KateDornan @ClaireHanna @MatthewOToole2 The Department for Infrastructure look after street lighting rather than the council, so unfortunately the council has no say over the matter.

I was shocked to discover that only two-parent families are eligible for discounted family council leisure memberships, meaning single parent families aren't. This is wrong, so I'm glad that my proposal to create discounted single parent family memberships was passed tonight.

Pretty serious road traffic collision this morning on the Ravenhill Road outside Cherryvale. A car was on its roof and a tree was uprooted. Hope everyone is ok. Traffic remains pretty heavy around the Ormeau Road, so think about an alternative route if you need to travel.

Water currently off in a number of streets around Ballynafeigh as NI Water work to fix this.
Burst water main on the Ormeau Road just south of Park Road which is making it difficult to cross at the traffic lights and is flowing onto the road. I've reported it to NI Water, but take it easy in the meantime.
