Microsoft are now dishing out 15-day suspensions for anyone using retail mode emulators.
TRW and SirMangler have gotten their consoles permanently banned (with appeal) as well. (Note that nobody else has received a ban).

Today marks the end of college for me. This year has been super stressful working hard on a project with hardware failure after hardware failure.

We're pleased to announce a port of Yuzu coming to Xbox really soon!!
Port started a few months ago with MESA work, Xbox One handles it shockingly well (close to 30FPS), and all Series consoles run it perfectly!
Very exciting!
It'll be under a different name.

It’s highly unlikely PS3 emulation will come. There are serious RAM limitations for UWP apps in dev mode (roughly 5GB) which even Yuzu would struggle with if ported to Xbox.

People don't understand that it's not about copyright either, it's a patent war that could negatively impact the entire industry.

All my groups got removed from my home screen and now I have a plethora of ads that I can't move or remove.

All UWP apps are sandboxed. Retail Mode has *less* privileges than dev mode as well.
This is a huge shot in the face to people who can't afford / don't have the means to purchase Dev Mode.

I’d like to take this time to mention that you should only rely on information from development teams themselves, and take external sources with a tiny grain of salt.
Dolphin are notoriously anal about copyright, the Wii Common Key is not copyrighted, and was reverse engineered.

Today is a bad day, Yuzu caved and settled with Nintendo, meaning Yuzu is now both dead and potentially illegal.
My understanding is a settlement doesn't automatically make something "illegal" as there was no ruling.
Nintendo name-dropped other projects like Atmosphere too.

yuzu will pay $2.4 million in damages to Nintendo to settle their lawsuit.
This was mutually agreed upon by both parties.

An update has dropped (both pre-February, and during), that seems to have broken some emulators specifically on Xbox Series S.
Current fix is to set resolution to 1080p on the Xbox.
This issue does not impact Series X or Xbox One users.

Tbh, the only good reason to own an Xbox is for emulation and dev mode.
Xbox exclusives don't really vibe with me, and I get them on PC anyways, with few exceptions. I've long since moved to PC and been happier ever since, especially with mods on singleplayer games
