@levelsio Oh dear, I didn’t expect to see my face there! 🤣 For context, I initially moved my background to yellow on my previous account last year as I read it “can help to gain in visibility”. Not sure if that’s working, tho’. Since then, I just kept it because I got used to it!

@domi_kissi @csaba_kissi I know everyone is saying right, but… I prefer the left one. More simple, focusing only on what’s necessary. As a payment step is usually the last one, I’m not surprised to see that simple UI. As someone into UX, I’d love to know your opinion. Which one do you recommend?

@arnauddsj After six months of hard work, I’ll move forward and release (that’s too much to abandon). I would probably analyze customer reviews and feedback for my competitor and see how I can do better or differentiate.

@IndieHackers That’s hard even more when you have a 9-5 and try to balance main job w/ side-projects, going to gym, friends, etc. Here’s how I’m trying to avoid this: - maintain good sleep - use baby steps - it’s fine if sometimes I can’t work on my side-project - go to gym 3 times a week

Balancing a 9-5 job with indie hacking? 🏃‍♂️ Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Take time to unwind to avoid burnout and sustain your creativity & productivity in the long run. 🌟 That's what I'm doing this weekend: spending time in Kuala Lumpur (one of my favorite cities).

@nico_jeannen First of all, congrats on your journey! 🤯 It’s crazy how much you can do in one year. That’s really motivating, and I’m glad you’re doing that publicly (so we can all see what's possible with hard work) What are your next big goals (e.g., for next year)?

@varshadr1234 A long, long time ago, I was playing with some HTML & CSS (very basic). Then, when I got serious about programming and in my studies, we learned about C, then C++. Somehow, I can say I "started" with the backend. What about you?

@MiguelSarenas Yesss, it can be tempting as a developer to start over-optimizing a product, but at an MVP stage with no traffic, there’s no point doing that. There’ll always be time to improve after an initial release; nothing comes out perfect on 1st try. Also, it’ll probably save you time 😄

@MajorBaguette @marc_louvion @arvidkahl Glad you like the note 🙏 I haven’t read many entrepreneurship books yet, but this one was amazing! It’s actionable, short to read, and with many examples to help you improve your approach to talking with potential customers. A must-read for IndieHackers! 😄

@catalinmpit @levelsio @marc_louvion Hahaha, please, don’t share our secrets like that! Meanwhile, most MRRs are stuck at $0 (like mine, not existing yet) 😂

@michaelg_me You're welcome! 😄 A few learnings: - believe in yourself: you never know what can happen - building publicly is rewarding - keep things simple: you don't need a shiny tech stack; pick what you know and try to always simplify your approach - invest a lot of time in marketing

@thejustinwelsh Thanks for sharing this tip! ✨ I agree with you. 💯 Even if I have a pretty small audience, I already see many benefits: - talk with amazing people - gain in visibility - help others - be part of a community - it's motivating It's so worth it to dedicate time to that! 😊

@vascoabm That’s pretty hardcore… but I can vouch for the personal trainer! I started with that 3 times a week 1 month ago: - my motivation📈 - my energy📈 - so many “healthy” side-effects (e.g., don’t want to eat bad anymore) Ultimately, all these are leading to focusing more on goals.

@jackfriks That’s good to hear; keep hustling! I’ve seen you leverage TikTok and Instagram a lot to promote your app and build in public. Maybe something I’ll look at one day 🙂

@atharvatwts Wow, the resume part is so real. Please do not do that! 😅 There are so many candidates if you identify yourself as an “aspiring” developer, you are lowering your chances. Do your best and put all chances on your side!

@theandreboso I’m new to this, but I really enjoy focusing on one main feature: release, market, and see if there’s traction. Not only because that saves a lot of time and it’s recommended. But also for my motivation. I much prefer not to spend months and realize nobody wants what I did 🥲
