Very true. Especially when you consider how much support UCP gets from people in AB's agriculture sector. Farmers should be fighting mad about compromisation of their food products via their irrigation water.
The @Alberta_UCP only has eyes for the mineral extraction industry. Not agriculture, not the people.

When you call AB gov't re: coal, ask about the royalty they get from Aussie miners. One per cent. That's not a typo. One per cent!. Australia's gov't gets 7% from the same miners. Why do Smith & Jean prostrate themselves, wreck our mts and poison us for so little? Ask them.

Pit lakes are what Aussie coalminers will use to keep selenium out of drinking water. Less truthful ones will speak science-y hocuspocus that doesn't exist or has failed before. Pit lakes work like the hole under grandpappy's outhouse, just more exposed to wind rain and snowmelt.
