2 years ago I told myself I would get rich off of ecom, I quit 1 month later.
Now I'm back and will be documenting my entire journey, using twitter as my accountability.
Lets see how far I get.
Ecom is much harder than I THOUGHT
I'm on my 7th store
0 sales.
Trying new markets geographically and demographically
But still...seeing nothing
Tough tough tough...very much is tough.
After getting a micro-blowup on twitter
I get my FIRST sale the same night
What…are…the…CHANCES!
Thank you everyone for the advice
Wishing successes to all beginners in eCom
Keep trying
It will come
Listen to people who make more than you
Try out what they recommend
2 days ago I wasn’t able to see a SINGLE sale
I felt like all the motivation I had when starting the journey was ripped away
Then it all came to me when I least expected it…
Thread 🧵
$400 USD thrown into Ecom
Still not seeing profit
It has been 24 days since I started my journey
My advice?
Don't expect any return
It took me 7 stores to see my first few sales
Hoping you will see a return will only destroy your mood
And keep you away from trying again
Test
Then test
Then test again
Keep testing and don’t stop
Even when you find your “winner”
TEST
You aren’t LOSING money
You are paying to LEARN and EXPERIENCE
This mindset was what made me consistently test new ideas
You are your best teacher
Teach yourself by testing
Document your journey for Ecom
This has been the EASIEST and BEST way to keep myself in check
I do journal entries...everyday
And review them at night to see where I can improve
It's how I improve 1% daily
Works for me
Thought I'd post it
These are what I use ↓
The 3 Principles to Ecom (IN ORDER)
Delegate focused time for these principles
And you will FINALLY...see a return
1. Product Research
This principle is probably the most if not the hardest
And luckily for you, it's the first you have to face
↓ Thread 🧵
What's your most ambitious goal in eCom?
I'd love to see an online empire I created at my desk
making its home in real life
I want to be able to run real brands
and leave the cheap and toxic dropshipping community
Let me know your thoughts!
20 days since I've last posted.
I've been slowing down
In Ecom
and on X.
Not only have I let myself down...
But everyone who has been following my journey too.
I appreciate everyone helping me keep accountable.
I'd love some help.
What can I do?
There was a time when I thought eCom was just...
Gambling.
Oh how wrong I was
The more products and stores I burned
I start to understand that there are levels to this game
And the players of the game have REAL skill
It takes skill to do what it takes to succeed in eCom
What do you think is holding you back in ECOM?
PERSONALLY, for me it's analysis paralysis.
Before I even start the task
I end up over thinking it
And it gets dropped after a couple thoughts...
Wanted to know if someone's had a similar experience
Ecom twitter is like a jackpot for misdirection
Filled with people saying that their way of doing Ecom
is SUPERIOR
But this had me thinking...
And made an objective conclusion
The 1 and only way to do Ecom
does NOT exist
There is no 1 way to do Ecom
Using myself as an
If you're new to dropshipping...GOOD!📦
I want you to reply to this tweet.
Building a small circle of only a couple beginners.
I'll be sharing what I've learn so far in my 2 weeks of dropshipping.
You've all made me realized something
1 step at a time will get me back to where I was
And taking my first step again lead to a few more
LOOK! ↓
- I setup a general store
- I found a product
- I made the creatives
The motion is slowly coming back to me
Thank you everyone.
Not going to lie...
Ecom isn't all pickles and rainbows
It's like you make the decision to take a mission to hell
And to HOPEFULLY destroy all the goons and obstacles in there
They are all waiting for you...
There's too many things gurus love not mentioning
↓ Thread 🧵
Testing products, testing store designs, testing ad campaigns...
I'm actively testing to find what I am doing wrong.
By now I'd give up, not being able to see success.
Not again, I will make this work.
Ecom is just like any other game
If you want to succeed at it and be someone in the space
You need to do the daily quests and level up your character (you)
Even though I didn’t see a sale
I promised myself I wouldn’t quit like I did before
Most of the questions you have now
You SHOULDN'T be spending a stupid amount of time on your website
It used to take me 3-4 weeks to design a store
Now it takes me 4-5 hours
Perfectionism is an anchor that only slows you down
You can choose PAID options like:
• Dropispy (filter for Facebook Ads)
• PiPiAds (filter for TikTok Ads)
I've tried all the options I listed
Honestly I've seen the best results with 1 of the free options
That being Facebook Ads library
Care about how your store is setup to perform
DO NOT care about how your store is setup to look pretty
Obviously as you scale you can fix the cracks in the store and make it look nicer-
Chop them up and make your creatives look original
While keeping that structure of course
People get bored easily nowadays
If you can't bring a new product
Bring them a video to watch that is new and fresh
@0xcS7ARR
I was going to try out the following advice for my next store:
Start a general store
Advertise 1 product at a time
See which one gets you the best ROI
And turn the entire store into that niche
^ It was recommended to me yesterday
Look for how long they have been running the ads
If it goes past 3-4 days, you know they are COOKING
Don't let just 1 competitor be the decider
Compare to multiple
Now for requirements:
• Eye-catching/scroll-stopping
OR
• Has a solution for a problem
They LOVE to sell you this get rich quick scheme
Making sure to make you feel safe in the hell waiting for you
Fooling you into thinking their course is your ONLY ticket out
No chance😂
To tell you the truth it's going to be a long mission
One that is going to pain you-
@NoflxTy9
Make the offer attractive enough so they will spend whatever outrageous price you put in front of them (be realistic though)
I do paid ads through facebook
Dropshipping tip:
Stop wasting your time trying to perfect the design of your store.
ESPECIALLY if you haven't even made any sales with that store.
Perfectionism is only an anchor that slows you down.
Just start and patch up the holes along the way.
^ Something I've learned
@awngkuharis
Depending on the product I either go for stock videos
OR
Go on tiktok and chop up a bunch of videos I find then slap them into my creative
I've failed quite a few products now and suprisingly learned a lot.
Creatives should be the second if not the first biggest concern on your list to having a winner product.
Here's what I missed for my creatives:
Remember that this is the hardest and most important principle
So delegate MINIMUM 30-90 minutes for this
2. Website
Okay imagine if you were a customer
You land on an absolute horror of a store
Are you seriously buying from there?
Short answer - NO!
Majority of beginners end up never facing this big scary principle
Choosing to run away from it - but why do they?
Because it's EASIER! (duh)
99% of people love the easier option; it's convenient.
There are many ways to go at this
And it's not because of luck
Take a look at their creatives; find commonalities.
Most creatives are fairly similar
Follow a structure that worked for the product
Then rinse and repeat
Use different videos and/or images that you can find on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram
But if you are just testing products
The customer is most likely NOT going to go on an adventure throughout your entire store
3. Creatives
No one will dare to touch your store -
If your creatives are disgusting
Analyze competitors
They are winning for a reason
@DanieDonahue
Nope, next time I’ll post is when I do better or learn something much greater than what I have posted before.
I’m aiming for quality posts.
@RTSG_pestomime
This is part of the documentation
I learned this through my experience and through the advice of the people I have networked with
It took me 21 days from when I started this journey to make my first sale and barely just reached $400 in adspend
Your opinion is fair though! 🤝
The design of your store is important
How fast it functions
How simple it is to understand what the product does
How easy it is to see the buy buttons
These are just a few of many reasons on why your design is important
But...
