My dr masks 100% of the time in patient areas whether a patient is there or not. He hands earloop black kn95's to any who try to enter exam area beyond waiting area without one and explains as a physician why its necessary for their safety and others. We need more like him.

Vaccines can reduce the risk of severe acute infection for some people, but do not prevent infection or forward transmission. They do not prevent long covid. They are not appropriate for everyone, and vaccinated people can be infected and infect those who cannot be vaccinated.

Both CMV and EBV can reactivate due to major stressors to the immune system - the most common reason being other serious illness. They have both been documented to do so in SARS-coV-2; in the context of HIV these reactivations predict faster progression to AIDS & poor prognosis

For one thing, it could very likely indicate your immune system is struggling. Have you had a lymphocyte subset panel? If your values were "in range" but you had no baseline comparison, have you had a second one 3 months later to see changes?

Viruses can persist. Ee know that. EBV and CMV do, and if they've reactivated then treatment can definitely improve quality of life. But we have to look at why they were able to reactivate, and address that too. Because SARS-coV-2 could also persist. Evidence suggests it is.

thats why grandma needs a shingles vax before you let her watch your toddler. toddler's chickenpox wont hurt grandma, but grandma's shingles can give the kid chickenpox if they havent had the vax (ir infection) yet. its the same virus, and reactivated, is contagious

They're all pretty bad, actually. Multiple sclerosis, non Hodgkin's lymphoma, CMV retinitis, nueralgia, etc. And synergistic effect on t cells with cd4 depleting viruses that hastens their decline to what would be considered AIDS if the virus were HIV. Not really a goal folks.
