It's hard to celebrate Khans of Tarkir on Arena when my partner has just been laid off from WotC.
We'll be ok, we'll regroup and make a plan, but... it's hard to see how much passion someone pours into a game just to be cut loose. I can't look at KTK with joy right now.

At FNM, I played a man who told me I got him into Magic after teaching him at a learn to play event earlier this year, and he went on to teach his girlfriend, and she taught her brother! He was so into it, it made me really happy.

Mechanically unique cards purchasable only directly through Wizards, for 24 hours? 🤢 That are legal in Commander and other eternal formats? 🤢
I have enjoyed Secret Lairs for atypical and weird art but I am extremely strongly against this and I hope people do not support this.
Not to be all negative today, but mechanically unique cards in Secret Lair drops is significantly worse for Magic than today's B&R, imo.

the format should drop to 80 cards because I struggle to hold and shuffle 100 cards, and my hands aren't even that small. I will rescind this opinion if someone can teach me to shuffle big decks better 😅

Deck indecision is gripping me so bad for Magic Arena. I want to play a standard deck, but unlike mtgo or paper magic, if I invest my wildcards in a deck I don't like, I can't trade back out of it into something else. I really wish I could turn my unplayed rares into playables.

So turns out the paints I used to alter my Yuriko into K/DA Akali actually ARE UV reactive 😅 the colours are a bit off, but it's still cool.

I wish people would stop wanting Brawl to fail. I really like it. I've had a lot of fun brewing for it in particular, which I can't say for many other formats. Be as cynical as you want about why Wizards are pushing it, but try not to be malicious about it.

Wild Rift has custom animations for some of the champion skins, which as far as I can tell you can only see when you're browsing the Champion collection?! It isn't even part of the main game and this is the level of love and care they're showing their characters and designs.

I highly recommend The Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee. It's the start of a finished trilogy which has WILD ideas I've never seen anything like in sci fi, almost every character is queer in some form or another, and has some incredible psych thriller elements to its space opera.
