This run is almost over, so we've decided what our next unit will be, and if the suspense is too much to listen: We're finally covering William Gibson's SPRAWL sequence! Grab the necessary books where you please, but our Bookshop list makes it easy:
SHELVED BY GENRE hits the final stretch of The Last Herald Mage Trilogy with part one of MAGIC'S PRICE, wherein an older Vanyel faces his greatest recurring foe: people trying to get him to date someone new, despite his Depression. Plus, bardic content:

A mega-ep of JKT for you all. A culmination of our show's "method" and the way it structures our understanding of King's work, what it means, and how his legacy informs and reflects our world. Next up: more reading! But the books will be different. They always are.
The wheel turns: reunions are made, battles are won, friends are lost, and 30 years of Stephen King's career are summarized and reflected upon as his magnum opus comes to a close with 2004's THE DARK TOWER, on the latest JUST KING THINGS:

i've read a lot of books and i don't think i've encountered anyone who loves to rapidly and totally derail a protagonist's life at the exact midpoint of a novel like Mercedes Lackey does (and the fact she can get away with it really says something about her skill)
Have you ever wondered how badly things could go at the midway point of a book? Mercedes Lackey's MAGIC'S PAWN shows just how awful you can make things go for your little wizard protagonist, as we discuss today on the latest SHELVED BY GENRE:

This was an unexpected but important opportunity for me, as McDowell is a writer I admire a lot. He was also a gay man who lived with and died from AIDS, and in his original draft did not shy away from the AIDS subtext of the original story--all but erased in the final film.
A few years ago, thanks to generous @rangedtouch supporters, I was able to purchase at auction a copy of author Michael McDowell's original screenplay for the film adaptation of THINNER. I finally got around to scanning it and have uploaded it here:
