i was just thinking about this and how yjh exists as a concept, a character, to keep kdj alive but as a person, he decided of his own free will to keep him safe and alive after knowing him. his story saved him and then he as a person stopped kdj from hurting himself again.

what i love about robin hood being a purposeful superman reference are the implications. superman is a beloved orphan who was adopted by a kind family and became a symbol of hope for the people who once made him feel different and outcast. he really is what goro would love to be.

one thing i've always liked about goro is the theatrical, play-like structure of his story and i've always felt like this was a nod to it. he's on a literal stage and like in a theater production, the lighting dims and changes to focus on his soliloquy
