To be completely transparent: I likely wouldn’t be employed at fsg had Jackson not gotten me an interview with my first boss here. While I’m so grateful for this, the fact that there is virtually no way to get a job in publishing without knowing someone is extremely not ok.
i should also add: i've made it a priority to give informational interviews/advice to pretty much anyone who needs it, because of the way information and access is privileged, and withheld, in this industry. DMs are open.
