The # of players on the boat at the start of an ocean fishing stop does effect the % chance a spectral fish catch will trigger a spectral current.
This was tested by

over a VERY long time.

For T3+T4 tanks & Sm. and Med. fish, the slot they go in determines the 'height' in the tank they swim at, shown below. Empty slots = no fish at that level.
You can place bottom feeders on the bottom to mimic real aquariums!

prelim patch notes is Aquamaton. It's a Legendary Fish from Kholusia. It is a robotic fish built by the dwarves that gained sentience (yes).
