Tweeted this scoop a couple weeks ago. Can confirm as of this morning Blake James has identified a “top choice” and is making calls. It’s over for Earl it seems.
Ahead of tonight’s game against UVA I’m hearing from the AD that ppl working close to Blake James are gearing up to start due diligence on potential new coaches. Barring a dramatic turnaround I’d expect Earl Grant be fired at the end of the season.

Earl had a smidge of job security momentum after a good showing (kinda) against UNC and then the cool W against FSU, but that’s gone now. Earl is firmly on the hot seat. From what I’m hearing it seems as though he’s gone if Leahy is okay paying the buyout. #FireEarl

I can confirm that Blake James met with Earl this morning at the facility to “talk about the state of the program” after last night’s embarrassing loss. Blake is confused with the direction the program is going and is frustrated with Earl’s ability to properly distribute NIL $$
BJ went with the team to UVA and while it’s not totally unusual, I am hearing that him being a bit more “hands on” right now is a sign of him deciding if he’s going to move on from Earl or not. Each blowout loss makes it more likely and I’m hearing it’s “75/25 that he’s gone”
