Dad has got Covid. His temperature is high and oxygen levels low. There's a four hour queue to even speak to a Doctor on 111. The NHS is broken after 12 years of cuts thanks to the Tories.
Dear
@BootstrapCook
please keep doing what you are doing, you help so many people. We offer assisted lodgings to young adults coming out of care. Often they have no life skills including cooking. We always give them a copy of your book Cooking on a Bootstrap as inspiration.
@wmarybeard
Solidarity Mary. Keep fighting. As a school lad I was taken to a nearby Roman villa and fell in love with history. Your work is so joyful, insightful and inspirational. Thank you.

@OwainWynEvans
The drummers at Poole Grammar School are doing a 24 hour drumathon starting this afternoon - raising money for British Ukrainain Aid - - is it possible to get a shout out for them please? Many thanks Paul
I've voted! I've always supported Labour but Jess Toale has really impressed me. She listens, understands and has plenty of ideas to fix Bournemouth. And she is standing not as some sort of ego trip, but to serve. She will make a great MP.

@SteveBarclay
just to let you know that a friend died last week, family called 999 and ambulance turned up 14 hours later, hours after he died. The NHS is disintergrating on your watch. Do you feel ashamed?
It's almost as though he can see into the future..... nothing like a huge oil leak in one of the most beautiful parts of our coastline to harm tourism. When was the last time a wind farm leaked a load of oil? Reason to not vote Conservative no 569
Seems like a good time to remember that our MP in B'mouth West Conor Burns opposed the Navitus wind farm yet was regularly paid by the oil industry. This from Private Eye in 2015
@tom_watson
Although I've not been diagnosed with diabetes, I was very overweight and I'm halfway there on my journey to lose six stone. The cost of fresh fruit and veg is a scandal compared to processed rubbish.
@ElectoralCommUK
We had to curtail knocking up in my ward because of the weather but I alone met 8 voters (out of the 28 I managed to talk to) who didn't even bother to go to the polling station because they knew they would be turned away. This is voter supression and it is morally wrong.
A huge thank you to all who voted for me & for those who came out to help our campaign! We certainly gave them a run for their money. Congratulations to Michelle for being our 1st Labour councillor in Kinson for years. Huge progress going from 3 councillors to 11 on BCP Council.
Dear centrist MPs. If you have spent the last three years attacking our democratically elected leader (twice), our membership, in fact anything bar fighting this awful government, don't be surprised when the membership bites back.
@IscaSaboteur
@premierinn
really? Is this for real? And as a regular user of your hotels and someone who books rooms for our band of 30 plus musicians when we tour, I want you to think VERY carefully about your answer and appropriate response to this.
@fasc1nate
Canadian Goose aka Cobra Chicken, hard as nails. Once saw a notice warning punters not to go near in a pub garden in Halifax NS where a goose had decided to claim as his territory.
Are Bournemouth West Reform really putting up pics of Farage with a gun looking like he's going to shoot immigrants. Just a couple of days after the anniversary of Jo Cox's murder. And they are asking for our votes?
The f bomb there from Miriam Margolyes on
@BBCr4today
a brilliant euology to Robbie Coltrane - and then talking about meeting our new chancellor 'what I really wanted to say to him [Jeremy Hunt] was f*** you you bastard'
#R4Today
Our NHS is broken and it's not down to COVID, it's not down to strikes, it's down to the Tories deliberately running down the NHS over the last 12 years. I knew Sam, it's disgusting that he had to wait over 13 hours for an ambulance.
@tom_watson
I've done my weight loss via Slimming World and whilst it has it's pros and cons, the biggest pro is that it teaches you not to trust the food industry. Something that is labelled as 'healthy' or 'natural' can still be processed and can still contain huge amounts of sugar.
@charlotte2153
1) bands choose their own repertoire. 2) A lot of them will have played the same music as they played at Whit Friday a few weeks ago 3) Hava Nagila is fairly standard rep for brass bands, there are a few arrangements available
@peterjukes
There's been a lot of scrutiny of individual candidates too. For example, Bournemouth West's Reform candidate Ben Aston who tweeted about a Jewish conspiracory to drive immigration or Salisbury's candidate who at a hustings announced he though Putin wasn't that bad.
@PhilBroadhead
@BCPCouncil
Is this the same Phillip Broadhead who allowed Cllr Norman Decent to stay on as a councillor even though he lived in Manchester, missed the vast majority of his meetings and didn't do any work for Kinson? Asking for a friend.
@bphillipsonMP
Labour need to do far more re mental health in schools, moving back to a broader curriculum and away from controlling schools. There's an interesting thread here about how a culture at a school can be anxiety inducing
I’ve been talking to young people who have struggled with school attendance. Sometimes called school refusers, or phobics, or those with emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). Here’s what I’ve learnt. 1/
@Kevin_Maguire
This will be the same guy who claimed he lived in the constituency before the election but got found out by the local paper. Also got found out for claiming he wasn't a professional politician despite having worked for the Conservative Party and Bow Group.
My wife is Swiss, is the secretary of a small local charity, a member of the Salvation Army & a teacher at a specialist unit looking after students who have been expelled from mainstream schooling. She wouldn't qualify to live here in the future. We need a General Election now.
I've seen some dishonest things in my life but this takes the biscuit. Bournemouth West Lib Dems mixing up local and general election stats to give themselves another FibDem dodgy bar chart. If I was their activist, I'd refuse to deliver this one out of pure shame/embarrassment.
One Bournemouth West candidate
@JessicaToale
has knocked on thousands of doors, holds packed public meetings (nice cupcakes btw!) & promises to hold regular surgeries if elected. The other only attends private parties, has a history of avoiding hustings & doesn't hold surgeries.
Thank you everyone who came to our campaign event this morning at the Winton& Moordown British Legion.
I’ve been overwhelmed by the support I’ve had since I was selected a year ago. There are so many people motivated for change.
Thank you
@RuthCadbury
MP for joining us too!🌹
@Bournemouthecho
Are you going to splash the news of who the Labour candidate for Poole is when they announce? Or does this favourable treatment only get given to rich property tycoons?
Tory controlled BCP Council deliberately ran the bowls centre down. The building was designed to be run with a working bar, cafe & rooms to rent to community to help running costs. When BCP took it over, they franchised all the revenue streams making the bowls unsustainable.
Two depressing things seen recently 1) the sheer amount of disinformation around the closure of just one entrance of Poole Park. And very sadly 2) the amount of racism towards the Gypsy and Traveller communities in plain sight in a local Talbot Woods Facebook group. Disgusting.
So not content with blasting bagpipe music at homeless, installing anti rough sleeping bars on benches, paying rail fares of 144 homeless ppl to just leave town, Bournemouth Council now also confiscate the belongings of rough sleepers.
@chunkymark
Hey
@BCPCouncil
how have you managed to make a 10 minute commute from Kinson to Gravel Hill now take 50 minutes thanks to the timings of Magna lights? You said you were looking into this weeks ago.
This report from the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) regarding the EU Revocation and Reformation Bill is extremely disturbing - just look at the bonfire of workers rights that will happen on 1/1/24
ELA warns of the effects of the EU Revocation and Reformation Bill – a briefing paper has been sent to MPs before the second reading tomorrow highlighting the uncertainty which will be caused over large swathes of employment law should this Bill be enacted
Here's our MP, rooting for the liar and worst Prime Minister this country has ever had. Burns is complicit, he repeatedly defended the liar to the media.
This is extremely worrying , the BSO does very valuable work in schools all across our area whilst at the same time produces world class music making that is admired across the globe.
Spent evening
@BCPCouncil
Overview and Scrutiny meeting on budget. Spoke up for
@BSOrchestra
which is facing catastrophic cuts in funding. Could be £110,000 a year after five years. Potentially devastating effect on music and working in hospitals, care home and education.
Hey BCP people - wishing you all lots of luck tonight! Hope it goes well and we can all work together to start to fix this very broken council. The people of our area are relying on it!
@Bournemouthecho
As opposed to Conor Burns who supports the oil industry that in 2023 almost wiped out nature in Poole Harbour. Totally sensationalist reporting from
@MattSimpsonEcho
We are almost about to go live on our very cheap drum lessons (50p per session) at the West Howe Community Centre (Henry Brown Centre). It's a great opportunity to put music back into the heart of West Howe and offer music lessons to kids who perhaps can't usually afford them.
Earlier this week I was at the fab West Howe Community Centre volunteering, whilst outside in the carpark the mobile Citizen's Advice van gave out vital information to local people from West Howe who are struggling with food and energy costs in these extreme times.
New voter ID comes in soon - but don't let that put you off voting - that's what THEY want! 4th May sees BCP Council elections, the most important local elections for years - sort out your voter ID or register for a postal vote (doesn't need any ID).
Voters will need to show an accepted form of photographic identification at this year’s local elections.
It may seem early, but checking now means you will be ready to vote in May.

@tom_watson
Agree but there are loads of breakfast bars, drinks, yogurts etc all going for the healthy market that are not that great for you. Take Innocent Smoothies for example, packed with sugar.
Just your normal evening for Kinson Conservatives at the Town Hall last night. Despite the meeting including vital budget votes Cllr Decent failed to turn up - he's presumably still in Manchester where he has lived for two years now at our expense.
When my wife was racially abused and pushed off her bike we didn't get a police visit. Yet contact your MP, ask a question about sewage and
@dorsetpolice
somehow find the time to send officers to two constituents. This statement is simply not good enough.
Speaking as a concerned resident, so concerned in fact by the behaviour of BCP Conservatives that I am standing for council to help rid Kinson of our inept trio of councillors (one of whom lives in Manchester with a 13% attendance!) I'd like to ask who runs this account?
Chris Bryant MP
@RhonddaBryant
has been appointed Minister of State in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport
@DCMS
He has also been appointed Minister of State in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology
@SciTechgovuk
@mikegalsworthy
Yes very odd. Also what is it with her fingers? I found that last gesture quite disturbing. Pointing upwards is a gesture the Salvation Army do (pointing to God) but they do it with a sense of humility and grace. This was far from that. Does she have an SA background?
@Baddiel
I'm campaigning against this guy. He's very odd, creepy. But these tweets are the ones who survived as screenshots. God knows what we would see from the 26,000 tweets he deleted just before he announced his candidancy.
@JasonDailyEcho
@PhilBroadhead
@BCPCouncil
Shocking. Can he not read the room? There was so many local issues to raise that we were told in Kinson to try and 'shoe in' a national sentence in our publicity. One sentence out of a whole leaflet!
The RNLI is a treacherous organisation engaged in people trafficking. By helping the invasion of our country they are committing treason. Cancel your donations asap 💪

This Conservative Council couldn't even run a lemonade stand next to a desert and turn a profit. Incompetent and yet more of our money wasted. £176,000 would go a long long way in West Howe!
Hey
@tithegrove
one of your project managers in Bournemouth Sammy Crooks appears to be organising a far right demo, similar to the ones that have turned into riots across the country. Is this the sort of thing that your company supports?
