Looking in the mirror while crying does that for me too. I see my crying face I look so funny/weird, that it keeps me from crying too much
A friend in law school told me she felt intimidated by the brilliant answers her mates gave in class and she wondered if she could be a good lawyer.
It made me remember how I used to be intimidated by my mates who were always studying
@Dera96Fr
@Fadeke_
That’s not true. Charles Dickens wrote his books to highlight the economic inequalities and bring attention to the plight of the poor. He himself grew up poor and knew how it felt.
Society twisted the term, not the author
@EvolvingVintage
Don’t put adult responsibilities on children. By all means teach your kids how to do chores and be responsible. But don’t expect adult levels of planning and responsibilities from kids
@cathueka
@viewsoty
The way he admitted it and they all laughed. Glad he did that though. It’s left a thread that unites all the members and their debut albums
The guy who was arrested on his way to play basketball is proof that you don’t have to do anything in order to be oppressed. Not protesting doesn’t make you safe.
Just existing in here means Ghana can happen to you. We must fight for better.
If you’re a law student worried and wondering what the future holds and if you will make it, this is your sign that everything Will be fine.
Even if you’ve repeated and had resits, don’t give up. Do your best and trust God.
You will do well
There’s space for everyone to flourish. There’s no one way to be a lawyer. The anxieties of school don’t dictate real life.
Ultimately, you’ll find your level and peace of mind.
It’s not a competition at all.
Your mates being good doesn’t mean you’re bad
A friend in law school told me she felt intimidated by the brilliant answers her mates gave in class and she wondered if she could be a good lawyer.
It made me remember how I used to be intimidated by my mates who were always studying
In shs, someone asked a lady from Northern Ghana whether they live in houses there. Every day, as non - Akans, many of us deal with disrespect, insults and even physical abuse from Akans esp Asantes, and made to feel like we’re not Ghanaians
“Go through your contacts and if you don’t have five contacts who you can call when you need an urgent 10k, change your circle/get new friends”
Is SO wild to me cos you that you need 10k but don’t have it, who should be friends with you?
But life showed me that answering questions or studying always doesn’t necessarily guarantee passing.
But importantly, las las, everyone will be fine. Some of my mates are lecturing, some are judges, others, corporate, and others, litigation.
On campus, I was leading a church committee meeting. I was the only lady and the head of the committee. One guy in the meeting stopped me mid sentence and asked me to go and get them snacks and come back
Another topic is women in leadership versus men in leadership. The kind of disrespect your male subordinates would bring would have you wondering what you've done or said to encourage it. The whole time you've done nothing. Your only crime is you're female.
Nah. The way women are taught that our whole lives are an audition for marriage is unfortunate.
Marriage is beautiful but teaching girls to shrink themselves and their ambitions for the hope of marriage just harms society
In 2006 my Aunt got an offer from a Lux company to be a face model for their product. My mum told us later on about how her and my grandmother talked her out of it, they said no man will marry a woman whos face is plastered on billboards, that ambitious women always didn’t
Apart from research, I’d say one of the most important things needed for legal practice is confidence.
I’ve worked on cases where the lawyer on the other side was my lecturer in school or something I really respect.
@pizzamanghana
This makes me so uncomfortable . It perpetuates the notion that ladies are demanding and material things are what make us tick. Is that really all we are?
Today is the 15th anniversary of my dad’s death. It’s funny how you can be fine and not fine.
Be able to move on with life but never stop thinking about them, remembering or loving them
Done watching Inventing Anna and I don’t get why they’re making Rachel look like a bitch. Neff is the most annoying. If a friend swindles me of an amount greater than my annual salary and leaves me in danger of getting fired and homeless, I’d do what she did
Nowhere cool, sister, ain't nowhere cool'
Therefore, let me hide here among the thorns
While I dine on wild desert grain
And if they should ask You of me
Tell them
The name of the game was Life
And I never learnt the rules

Opened a bag of Abena rice and this is what I saw🤢
What hurts me is the fact that I’ve given bags of rice from this same brand to people for Christmas.
I’m so scared to touch or each rice now
Guys you really need a lawyer to go through documents for you. Even if you don’t have much money, speak to a lawyer. You might even get pro Bono help.
E get why
Walking through Aburi botanical gardens at night while a local tells me the history of the plants and buildings is one of those unplanned experiences that I’ll remember for a long time
There’s a feeling of loss that comes as your friends and family leave Ghana.
You’re happy for them, but you feel untethered, unmoored - knowing things will never be the same.
When home spits you out and all scramble to leave, who is left to pick the pieces?
Being overweight or underweight is unhealthy- true. But let’s not pretend that the people who bodyshame others and comment on every change in appearance do so out of health concerns
Please and please again. Thank you
@Aku__Addy
For about a month after my dad died, our house was flooded with visitors. We even had to give up our bedrooms for out of town visitors. Shoutout to our neighbors who brought us food everyday for that month so we could eat while cooking for visitors
Yet the Mukase lady is busy saying that they’re the dominant tribe so it’s okay to make others feel less Ghanaian because they can’t speak twi?
I’m disappointed
@aprettydai
Is it really necessary to take a pic of someone to mock them on social media like this?
ESP when you know nothing about his life and why he’s dressed so poorly? Could be so many things -broke with massive student loan, depression, etc.
To be honest, having a good credit system in Ghana would have helped many of us to acquire assets that we would have otherwise had to save for years for.
But credit works best in a high trust and low interest rate environment. We need to build that first.
Hoping for the courage to take a break from law for 6 months to 1 years to pursue art.
I’ll make bead jewelry, learn to swim, write, read, cook all sorts of dishes, and sleep a lot.
“I’m just joking. You take things too seriously”
“Do you really think I like you? You’re overreacting”
“It’s our office culture”
“I was just being nice”
“You’re paranoid and suspicious
Most times you know man wants to fok you but you can’t even reject outright because instead of saying it expressly, he’s using innuendos.
Call him out & it’s “well I wasn’t doing that, I’m just nice, You’re overreacting”
Stay neutral & try to navigate & “you’re leading him on”
Just watched “My Name Is Loh Kiwan”.
Not surprised at how good it was cos Song Joong Ki always delivers the best.
What surprised me was how he’s almost 40 but looks like a 20 year old 🥺😳
@brodamike07
At first I was nervous about turning 30. But when I realized the only other alternative is to die, I began to look forward to it.
Haven’t accomplished all that I thought I would but being alive is most important, no?
Sometimes I want to quit my job and start my own law firm but entrepreneurship is hard, and who will pay my tiers 1, 2, and 3 for me if I do?🥺😭
Who will give me free lunch if I do? Mmm?😫
In what world is it ever okay to harass someone because of how they’re dressed?
Don’t you want the person you’re sleeping with to actually want you too?
Babies, old women, hijabis, nuns, people of all kinds are being raped and you think it’s the dressing?
In law school, I also applied to write for Kuulpeeps. I was asked to send articles to Julitta and another guy. I write about three, and made changes they asked. They published one, and that was it.
No payment, no follow up, nothing.
@chuqu_amaka
Mine was buying a cake, keeping it in the fridge and eating it slowly all by myself.
I no longer like cakes that much and always share when I get one 🥺🥺
I asked our office security guard to buy me waakye with one fish and this guy comes back with two fishes, talmabout he thinks I need to eat two fishes. Justice Is it your money?
“Who is Paul? Who is Apollos?” Imo this is one of the most iconic things said by Apostle Paul.
Shutting down hero worship and division is something all spiritual leaders must learn. Else you create a cult
All eyes on Christ please
We really need to learn to trust God. Sometimes it’s “something” that’s telling you something. Or this nagging feeling, this still voice.
Unfortunately, when you ignore it, that’s when you get to know why you shouldn’t have ignored His voice.
@kdramacokr
I’d been suspecting him for a while. The statue of Virgin Mary incident, Jerry’s hospital visit, the way the drugs and money were found in the ceiling of the law firm, someone close who said Changho had to be saved
Sue him in a district court. Ask for interest and damages.
Find out if he has any bank account with cash in it, a salaried job, or any asset you can seize to satisfy the debt if he refuses to pay after judgement
Me: how much is the beef?
Waakye seller : it’s meat
Me: but which meat is it?
Waakye seller : it’s cow meat
Me: okay so beef?
Waakye seller : no it’s meat.
Is there some meaning of beef I’m missing?Cos this is the 2nd waakye seller I’m experiencing this with
My boss told me that while preparing for a work presentation, she found an article I wrote. It was the first article to pop up and was helpful to her.
I always feel a warm glow whenever someone tells me they found my article while doing legal research 🥰
Today has been beautiful.
Fought my ADHD enough to complete a client’s work, put my hair in Bantu knots for the first time in 5 yrs, finally watched Barbie, did a 22 hour fast, ate my favourite foods and bought 8 new books
In a time where the economy was dry and there was a famine, God led Isaac to make great profit and survive.
I pray He does the same now for us cos this economy ain’t it
One of the most interesting things I’ve learned as an adult is that almost everyone is winging it - even those who look like they’ve got it all figured out
@S_tage
Thank you for this great analogy. I’ve had people grab my hair/clothes out of the blue to “adjust” it & I was expected to thank them but it felt scary and intrusive even with their good intentions.
You can help people while respecting their space/boundaries
@paninibaby
I can say this enough. Even if I’m the one doing all the cooking, just be present. Talk to me, make me laugh, taste the food when I offer bites, hug me from behind - just be there
I’ve had to remind myself that I’m a lawyer too. That I am just as competent. That my client doesn’t care that I’m dealing with my lecturer/senior. All they want is results.
It gets easier with time but imposter syndrome still comes sometimes
I’m so content, and happy in life rn and I love that for me.
Didn’t imagine I could be this contented. Toxic bosses and jobs really drain the life from you.
Thank God for progress.
The gospel is this- that God loved the world so much that He chose to take our punishment and sent His son to die for us.
That is the eternal gospel which will be proclaimed through all ages. It will never lose its relevance.
His love is everlasting
@ImmaNnuela
That’s true. But it doesn’t lessen the hurt many people suffered.
And some continue to show such ignorance right into adulthood. I made this tweet because of a conversation I saw on twitter yesterday
Greetings From Abroad was such a nice show. It’s redundant in these times that everyone can make a video call to relatives abroad, but in those days when phones were scarce and expensive, it was so nice to watch
One of the ways to survive in this economy is to eat food that is in season. Right now garden eggs are in season so they’re cheap.
Use them for stews and soup. Fry them as meat substitute.
When it goes out of season get creative with the next food item
