What Ben Solo, Qimir, Jecki, Osha and Torbin all have in common is that they were padawans failed by their masters. We hear the Kylo Ren theme here, when Jecki dies, when we first see Qimir's scars and when Qimir finds Osha left behind on Khofar.

"How come Sol can't tell Osha and Mae apart, but Qimir can??"
It's because Qimir sees Osha like this at all times, I hope this helps.
#theacolyte
#oshamir
The way he's so terrified here. It's all "come to the dark side Osha, sith have more fun, look at my cool helmet" until the literal first moment she experiences any pain or distress, then he's pulling the helmet off of her like his life depends on it.
#theacolytespoilers
#oshamir
It's interesting how sure Qimir is that Osha won't hurt him. He hands her several weapons, turns his back to her and doesn't even flinch when she presses the lightsaber right to his throat. He's either that confident in his reaction time or just that whipped.
#theacolyte
#oshamir
I think it's worth noting that Qimir actually seems to be a pretty good teacher. He's patient and encouraging with Mae, even when she isn't grasping the test or following his directions. For someone whose desire for a pupil is selfish, he still cares quite a bit.

@MOLENAIDE
Also happens when you go to a job interview for a graphic designer position and they tell you that you'll be expected to edit their videos, make animations or manage their social media. What they really mean is "we need an art/visuals/??? person".
What if Osha finishes Mae's test and "kills the dream" by making Sol give up being a jedi? He realizes the many flaws of the jedi order, how it has failed him and the girls, and he quits. She will have killed a jedi without a weapon. Not the person, but the idea.

@PanderShirts
She doesn't upload on social media anywhere near as often as she used to and openly talks about how much harm being online has caused her, so how exactly did she not internalise it?

@NotoriousPBG
He's told people, several oceanographic institutions that have since went down there for research purposes. James Cameron even went down to it for a documentary once. It's just not public knowledge, which is good.
@KazRowe
It's fine if people don't get or like modern art, but as soon as the phrase "I could make it" comes out, it just screams "the last time I created a piece of art was in school". Like no, you probably couldn't, because creativity requires curiosity and willingness to learn.
@aherman2006
My only guess is that the problem came from Charles and Kate being diagnosed with cancer around the same time. Charles' announcement became a priority, because he's the king and tacking on "oh, and Kate has cancer too" became too awkward.
@VoicesByZane
I'll take every opportunity to bring up this quote from Michael Eisner, former Disney CEO. This is the guy who led the company during its golden age, the "Disney renaissance", I can't imagine what's being said behind closed doors now.
@glumirror
Googling the causes of PCOS feels like you're researching some mystical phenomena. What causes it? How early does it start? Is it genetic? What are some preventative measures? Zero answers, who knows! It's only a medical disorder that every tenth woman on earth has.
@ThisIsCreation
I think Taika Waititi is a fantastic filmmaker, but this is like saying "Who else could direct The Pianist? I know, Mel Brooks, he's Jewish!" Like is that the only indigenous director they know...? Also lumping indigenous Americans with indigenous Pacific Islanders is wild.
Rewatched star wars for the first time since TROS came out recently and was reminded that Ben Solo is, in fact, my son, my mother, my sister, my mailman, my third floor neighbour and my great aunt

We're running out of these beauties, gotta rejoin russia to get more :/ We tried building our own, but the stairways didn't stink quite the same and the roofs didn't leak.
He stares at Osha like she hung the stars in the sky for just breathing, then turns to Mae, who's killed on his command, and goes "so seeing as you're a cringefail loser..."

No Elvis biopic will be legit until they make Otis Blackwell a notable character. Elvis copied that man's homework word for word and handed it in.

Incredibly funny to me that you called her an ugly zionist and her minions immediately jumped in with "uhh, she's NOT ugly??" Like they can excuse zionism, but they draw the line at physical appearance, lol.

Nah, that part was true. Mary Austin wasn't just his friend, they were a couple for a long while and were even engaged. After he came out as bi and they broke up, they remained close his entire life and in his will, he left her a large share of his estate, including his home.

To be fair Elordi looks much younger than her age, she looks like a teenager, and Elvis was 24 when he met Pricilla, so it sort of works out.

I'm Evelina and my earliest memory of watching a movie, ever, was watching Star Wars. It was all downhill from there.
I make art sometimes, here's my latest drawing of Rey, inspired by the 1977 poster.
@juliedillon
Does it really matter on social media? Twitter, instagram and tumblr all compress images when you upload them. Fully agreed on websites, though, no reason to ever have more than 72dpi.
@irose_artoo
I think it's a bit of both, like she is kind of the mom friend in the group, she's often the most responsible and cautious one, arguably the smartest one, so she drags the others away from a lot of dumb decisions, but she's also just a kid and has her goofy and petty moments.
@directedbyrian
I love it so much that she just comes out and says what her show is about.😭 No wishy washy "everyone has their own interpretation, we'll see", just "I wrote this story and this is what I meant by it".
@jeremylovesyall
The Supergirl logo is weird, but the Batman costume seems pretty spot on to what it actually looked like. You can see the little bump of the left ear there.

"Please show your evidence" and then crickets when you do. It's fascinating to watch transphobes demand scientific/historical proof time and time again, desperate for their hatred to be facts-based only to vanish once it's provided. You'd think they'd stop stepping on that rake.
@boarwinds
It is normal, but lightsabers that split into two usually join into a double-bladed one (a saberstaff). We haven't seen a design where the shorter blade hides in the hilt in any of the major movies, shows or games yet. I think.

Do you believe that wool used for mass-produced clothing comes from happy little sheep that roam in lush meadows and just happen to need a haircut? Or do you think it comes from massive factories, where animals are squeezed together, live in dirt and barely see the light of day?
@voidsaloon
It's a very specific and unique experience, when you click on an author's profile, hoping that they've written more of your ships and instead find that they have like 56 hockey rpf fics. Not uncommon either.
@__paulius
I'd much rather see a pro-Palestinian artist participate in Eurovision and pull the sort of stunt Hatari did than watch a bunch of zionists acting chummy with the horse.

They put Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, The Prophet Song and I'm In Love With My Car on the same album like it's a normal thing to do

If I had a nickel for every time a star wars heroine picked up a lightsaber and gave it a long, thoughtful look before going to meet the dark side dude who's into her I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it is weird that it happened twice.
@Srirachachau
Conservatives also love George Carlin and Rage Against The Machine, anything that has a general "stick it to the man" message really. They seem completely unaware that they are, in fact, the man.
@bytebabz
What he did with Mae, the intimidation and posturing, didn't work, so now he's swinging in the exact opposite direction of "here, you can kill me if you want to, you have all the power here, just please stay".

Except it is, in industries where employers are already opting for using AI instead of hiring illustrators or designers. You don't need to pay the machine for its output and it does it in seconds, surely you understand how that threatens artists' jobs?
@metuljis
We don't have genderless pronouns in lithuanian, but at least our commentator emphasized Nemo's gender identity several times. He also seemed to try and use "this artist" instead of a pronoun most of the time, but that was hit or miss. Same with Bambie.
@cineavoys
To be fair, if we had it all, Storm's hair wouldn't look like ✨that✨ It's the closest thing to it all since the tent scene in X2 tho, so I'll take it.
@FemK_Ultra
In 2022 they were extremely weird about the war in Ukraine and the artists weren't allowed to talk about it either, Kalush Orchestra barely got interviewed in the green room or otherwise. In 2023 they had no choice but to go all in with their support since that was their winner.
QRT with something you've created since October 26 (art, fic, cosplay, etc) to prove that just because the show is done, that doesn't mean we're done with it.

I hate when they critique hyper realism with that tired "what's the point if you can just take a photo?" What's the point for a gymnast to do ten backflips if they can just walk to where they want to go? It's to show their skill and have fun.
@last__lane
It's funny because it blatantly shows that their problems with reylo were never about the morality.🤷♀️ Oshamir is the same dynamic in a different package and suddenly they're cool with it, because this time they personally find the bad guy hot, that's all it's ever been.

I have two versions of photoshop. One on my personal laptop, pirated, another on my work laptop, legit. The pirated version *consistently* performs better, cause it's not bogged down by updates that create more problems than they solve. Also creative cloud is fucking annoying.

Qimir probably hasn't had anyone fight for him or try to defend him in years and years, not since before he turned to the dark side... just a thought.

I watched those Lord of the Rings "making of" documentaries almost as much as the actual movies as a kid. I still wanna be a filmmaker to this day, they had such a profound impact on me.
