Vince McMahon essentially offered political bribes so as to have his employees classified as essential (so as to minimize the impact on his profits) days before a mass firing of many of those same employees. Literally monstrous.
Although Hana Kimura was absurdly tough in the ring, in reality it seems she was a super sweet and sensitive girly-girl. She was a prodigious athlete who wanted to find love.

millennials: in conclusion we must stan harder than ever before
WWE has a long history of attaching liberal/left causes (racial justice, feminism, environmentalism, anti-capitalism) to villains because ultimately it is all the creation of a conservative propagandist despite all the platitudes about parity and inclusivity.
Hello gays:
Last night on All Elite Wrestling, a transgender, Native American woman defeated her opponent to become the brand’s women’s championship. Wrestling is now officially more progressive than Drag Race.
One of the many bizarre parts of being an LGBTQ+ person is that you are expected to extend empathy to individuals who wish you didn't exist and are actively working to take your rights away.
Loving, healthy relationships between gay men and straight men are almost non-existent on television. I think that's part of why the Sonny/Joey story is one of the most compelling plots on contemporary TV.
Nancy Pelosi is not the "patron saint of shade." She's a rich white lady. Trans women of color did not invent the word "shade" for it to wind up being relegated to centrist politicians who do the bare minimum to protect LGBTQs.
Stop it.
The fact that Naomi went viral after the Rumble proves how little die hard wrestling fans understand of mass culture writ large. They can't figure out who would be a bigger star if given opportunities because they so rarely venture outside of wrestling culture.
AEW should take the WWE crisis as a time to double down on workers rights / healthcare for employees to further distinguish themselves from their competition. Market themselves as the guilt-free wrestling company.
No shade Satin, but Brokeback Mountain was a thoughtful meditation on forbidden gay desire — not a throw away segment on a TV show with a history of overt homophobia, this comparison is insane
Would you say Brokeback Mountain mocked LGBTQ culture because the two stars of the movie weren’t gay?
I don’t think most would.
Like I said, the stuff with Lana/Liv didn’t make a ton of sense last night, but I’m interested to see where they’re going with it.
Yes the Santino spot was transphobic. Yes it took away a spot from deserving women. But mostly it was just unfunny and interrupted the flow of the match. Don't even really need to be political to criticize it tbh.
It should surprise absolutely no one that at the same time Trump runs his entire campaign on stoking fears about "antifa," WWE introduces a multi-cultural, anti-capitalist stable of hoodie-wearing "thugs" as its new villains.

Im at a packed burlesque bar in NYC watching girls strip to WWE songs and the audience is 100% queer so,
@WWE
, let me just tell you how much money you are losing when you go out of your way to not include LGBTQ content on your shows. The audience is tipping in 20s.
Hello gays,
This is a picture of Bianca Belair. She is a pro-wrestler who whips opponents with her 5’ long braid. We need to make her the next big thing. We have to do this to prove our power. We must support this queen.
Thank you for your participation in advance.
Remember that Thomas, Kavanaugh, and Alito opposed equal rights for LGBTQ people. Remember: these men do not believe LGBTQ people deserve equal rights. Do not ever let them forget it.
Chyna was not a vindictive bitch looking for revenge. She was a mentally ill person struggling with addiction. She deserves to be remembered as the flawed hero she was to so many of us.
I filmed this video with Chyna at her apartment 2 months before she passed...
Anyone who questions how much she missed her wrestling family, or what the WWE Hall of Fame meant to her.. Watch. Might be some tears... Please RT.
Let Chyna In.

I hate that “pro wrestling with no audience is avant garde theater” article because pro-wrestling is often avant garde but critics are just classist and won’t see it
Congrats to
@MarkAHaggerty
, who just now became the first openly gay ring announcer on television in the history of pro-wrestling! Watch him on

RIGHT NOW!
Fawning over allies when there are actual LGBTQ ppl to celebrate is the worst. HOWEVER

It’s

Bloomberg proves Bernie's argument that billionaires shouldn't exist. He spent $500 M I L L I O N on a campaign that failed miserably. Think of how many people that could have actually helped had it not been used on a bizarre, narcissistic campaign that changed nothing at all.

I'm not wading into the "intergender debate" again. It's a non-issue, to be honest. Here's my take from earlier this year on the ethics / aesthetics of integender wrestling, with input from

Perpetual reminder that Drag Race is the WWE of drag in that it is deeply behind-the-times in relation to the current standards within the industry and extremely myopic in its presentation of an already denigrated art form.
I feel like it doesn’t need to be said but the argument that a trans woman in wrestling has an unfair advantage over her competitors is ridiculous for so many reasons the primary one being that THIS SHIT IS SCRIPTED SIS

There is no longer a way to believe that Vince McMahon isn't a despicable villain. From now on, I expect only hard right wingers to come to his defense. The time for apologism is over.
(No shade to the talent on his roster who are contractually obligated to not speak ill of him)

The general public still thinks most wrestling fans are backwoods rednecks but I’m currently watching a tribute to the end of Trump’s presidency on a wrestling show prominently featuring LGBTQ+ and women athletes so ... catch up, the rest of culture!
WWE marks complaining about Atlas winning on first day of Pride. That actually seems like realism to me. Why wouldn't an openly gay athlete be working harder than ever to rep his community? Why wouldn't he perform better during this important time?
Notice how for wrestling cultists, Edge's return was the biggest story to come of the rumble. But the ONLY thing anyone outside that cult that people took notice of was Naomi. Think about what that means. Really think about it.
me: i think its so lame when gay bars advertise their events with pictures of shirtless dudes with abs. is that all gay culture has to offer?

Kind of amazing how WWE and AEW both totally bungled major opportunities at marketing during Pride by not showcasing LGBTQ+ talent, only collabing w/ anodyne orgs like GLAAD, refusing to engage w/ the drag world, and being afraid to engage w/ young queer influencers.
The absolute pettiness of people complaining that AEW is putting over indie stars more than their own talent is astounding. These performers have been out of work for months and you're upset they're getting a well paid gig because it doesn't further a storyline? Pathetic.
Straight people needed months of deliberation and paragraphs and paragraphs of text and to argue and explain that LGBTQ people are actual humans that deserve civil rights. That's what our lives mean to them. We are a theoretical discussion. Don't forget this.
Lol
@nwa
has such a cool show with cool characters and a cool look and so many more people would watch it if C*rnette wasn’t on there spouting bigotry disguised as “jokes” that no one but boomers and incels find funny
BUT GO OFF I GUESS
"if jordan myles was so upset about that shirt why didnt he say something when it came out"
idk, maybe cause he had to give it some time and thought — something your dumbass didn't do before you fired off your tedious ass opinion
KEEP CANCELING CORPORATE PRIDE PARADES. JUST MEANS WE HAVE TO TAKE THE STREETS WITHOUT CORPORATIONS WHO DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT US ANYWAY. FINE WITH ME.
TIL: The creator of The Punisher, whose logo was bizarrely adopted by the Blue Lives Matter movement, was so incensed by the character's bizarre usage by police that he had the character literally address the issue in the comic itself.

I reiterate: if any of us were as "moral" and "leftist" as our online presences allowed us to pretend to be, we'd all have been boycotting this company for a very long time.
Protect your brain! Don't read the comments on WWE's Pride posts! You can just skip it! There is nothing to be gained from looking at those bigoted replies!
I'm honestly just cackling at the thought of all these heterosexual wrestlers literally begging to be on the gay brunch show. It's so fucking funny. Wrestling really IS different from how it was even ten years ago, huh!
