When in city we lived in doorman highrise, so security of home was fine. But after moving to safe suburb, it was when I had to run to supermarket at 8pm and my 4yo said "can I come", that it hit me. I could now say yes.
You get desensitized to disorder in the city.

Progressives think all poor people are criminals so if they want to help poor they need to be nice to criminals. Reality is most crime victims are law abiding honest poor people. Depolicing hurts poor the most.
