Don’t give up hope! Securing rep can be a long and painful process. If an agent you love has passed on your work and you’ve since won a comp/had work optioned then follow up with them (make sure a little time has passed). I look after a few writers who I had to pass on previously

I was asked how creatively involved agents are in their clients’ work. Every agent is different. It’s like a spectrum with business minded agents at one end & creative minded agents at the other. There is no 1 size fits all which is why it’s key to find the right fit for you ☺️
