Criminal Conversations afternoon LIVE show coming in

Sat 26 October with incredible special guest Louisa Hope who was a hostage in the Lindt Cafe Sige. Bookings:
I’m watching Ch 7 coverage and panel talking about that despite all the conspiracy theories around the Premier, they really had no influence on the vote. Steve Bracks just said direct to camera “Herald Sun you have absolutely no influence”
#VicVotes2022
I just watched whole
#HarryAndMeghanNetfix
Powerful and beautiful. I don’t know why people are so surprised or angry that they’ve done this series. Everyone else has opined, commented, made money from them when they couldn’t talk about their own experience. Now they are.
I'm 47 and instead of becoming more conservative like a lot of my parents' generation has, I increasingly feel like I want to burn 🔥 everything down and rage against all the machines. It could be perimenopause too but I feel SO angry.
I didn’t know a lot about
#MeghanMarkIe
but I liked what she was trying to do in Royal Family. It’s a real loss for people that she was put in position where she couldn’t feel safe to be a royal. The footage of her with women affected by Grenfell Tower fire was incredible
David Speers keeps saying "misinformation". That's wrong. The NO campaign peddled disinformation. Misinformation - false or inaccurate information, getting the facts wrong. Disinformation - false information which is DELIBERATELY intended to mislead.

I met Mary Doyle this week when I voted in Boronia (in my WFH gear!) I grew up in outer east & raise my family here. I love living in Boronia-The Basin area. The outer east ain’t Brunswick. Aston deserves a representative like Mary Doyle. She gets this area.

🧵I’ve volunteered for 3 street stalls in past few weeks and done pamphleting at train station for my local
@yes23au
group. I’m in the outer east. My experience on the ground does not correlate with what polls are saying (I’m not even sure who the polls are polling…)
🧵My take from
#2023
is not positive. I saw a side of my community during the Voice referendum (while volunteering for my local Yes23 group) that was ugly. And flagrantly so. I've never been an "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie..." person ...
My husband, who was a cop in London, said "I can't believe they are running with that charge. That's embarrassing" when I told him what
#SamKerr
is alleged to have said to a policeman.
Let's talk about the absolute waste of space Senator Babet is. In fact, his views are deeply concerning, and unsafe, especially for women, people from CALD and lgbtqia+ communites in Victoria.
#auspol2024
Not feeling so chipper after a pre-poll shift at Polish House, Rowville this arvo. Made small talk with the NO volunteers. Kept it pleasant. But when they start talking about cashless society, paying extra tax, "fat cats" being on the voice, losing private land...I can't take it
It's been a big year. Like most people, lots happened in my 2023. I volunteered for my local Yes23 Group. Loved it but it rocked me. I still can't explain properly the impact the disinfo and nastiness - on socials & on the ground - has had on me. 💔
I love how this platform flags me using the term "idiot" but allows the most disgusting racism, sexism and transphopia on here. Yes, I did mean to call
@senatorbabet
an idiot.
@lingerie_addict
The clothing hauls on IG and TikTok are fuelling it too. When I was younger you had a really nice dress you’d wear multiple times and you had it for years.
“Our communities, even today, still feel the brutal impacts of colonisation. Don’t believe what Jacinta Price says…” - Aunty Jill Gallagher AO speaking at Aston for YES community event.

I have the book Welcome to Sex. It’s a comprehensive guide. Melissa Kang specialises in adolescent health & sexuality. But yeah slam this book…that you don’t have to buy. It’s better that your kid is prepared with info. And this offers the opportunity.
There’s something about Ralph Babet…and it’s not good. If you read this Senator’s replies to accounts here you’ll see he is a simping fan boi for MAGA and, disturbingly, the Tate Brothers. What has this guy done for Victorians? His attention appears elsewhere…
I've wanted to say this on here for ages but i can't hold it in anymore. If your feminism and claims to support women's rights includes being purposely and gleefully transphobic then fuck your feminism. You don't speak for me.
Yeah they are privileged beyond our understanding but their mental health and trauma is no less because of that. Harry talking about Diana just broke my heart.
🧵In the absence of a code of conduct for Senators and MPs here's another reminder of the Calibre of person
@senatorbabet
is. If this was any other workplace action could and would be taken.
#Auspol2023
I acknowledge the privilege I have of being Australian. However after this year I feel worried about the future. There's now an established playbook for how any future elections, referendums will be conducted and it's depressing. It's like the Brexit campaign example...
Heads up: Not everything you pay for with rates is tailored just for you. It’s not a bespoke service. Plus most of these “protesters” have probably never set foot in a library with their kids. “Protecting kids” is just a ruse for bigotry. Good on
@MonashCouncil
💪🏼
#dragstorytime
Drag Queen led story times are again under attack today after ugly scenes at a local Aussie council meeting. Protesters and counter-protesters faced off over what was supposed to be a fun family event.
I will also say I think William and Kate are in a difficult position too. They are not able to talk publicly. I think they are doing their best for their family. It’s a world very few have experience in. But we all have our opinions.
@lingerie_addict
My 16yo daughter has hired dresses a few times for formal events and I love that she and her friends are thinking like that. I wear a dress probably twice a year! I do love buying second hand from charity shops or eBay
It's so depressing. I don't regret at all getting involved in the Yes23 campaign. It was hope. And I met fantastic people, some who are now new friends.
Bad faith actors will lie to and manipulate. Tell lies. Focus on things to distract. Bamboozle as a strategy. For some this will embolden them in the views they have quietly held or others will get sucked in through fear and blatant lies.
@ImMeganCollins
Dunno if it’s obscure but I always think of (and often say to my husband) whenever I order a coffee “…I believe I ordered the large cappuccino” from So I Married an Axe Murderer
People frothing about
#clementineford
book...settle.
#Marriage
is pretty much irrelevant. I've been married for 23 years but honestly if we weren't from different countries I wouldn't have bothered. You don't need marriage to be committed to someone.
Does your dog circle before lying down?
This is a trait inherited from their evolutionary ancestor- the wolf!
Wolves clear away debris + small critters by circling + digging, this also flattens the area to indicate to other wolves that the territory has been claimed.
Met lots of people who say they are supporting
#VoiceToParliament
and voting yes. Also met those who say they are a No. honestly, the people I’ve met who do give a reason for voting No (I don’t ask, they usually tell you) it’s based on the unfortunate bulls*** they hear/read.
And Senator Blabbet can’t help simping over Andrew Tate. “Pick me!” I’ll say it again. Is this a man who sees women as equals? He represents no one but himself.
This is searing from
@SatPaper
, 2nd last para especially on point - “He speaks to one half of Australia and promises he will make them comfortable…They will live in Morrison’s Australia, protected by selfishness and indifference…” Life inside a lie
@BroadhurstBooks
My husband does this. He buys a book, reads it then puts it in our op shop donation bag. I regularly sneak them out because i’m horrified by this behaviour. I also am a book hoarder!
@PRGuy17
I’m going to vote tomorrow. I got some trash in my mailbox today from The Right to Life Australia about “Telehealth danger ahead” and “Vote Labor Last”. snails had already started chomping through the paper.
He is meant to represent the interests of the state he represents, not spend his taxpayer-funded time simping for Trump and protecting socially regressive masculine traits.
I scrutineered last night. Transparent, thorough process. Three levels of checks in addition to scrutineers. There is ZERO chance of interference or "changing a vote" as I heard many people at pre-polls claim as they waved pens in my face. Thank you
@AusElectoralCom

Parenting my amazing 17yo (almost 18) daughter is making me reflect a lot on life when I was her age. She is way smarter, savvier and more assertive than I was. Sometimes I want to teleport back and do things differently because of what she teaches me. ❤️
@AmyRemeikis
You definitely notice it at the supermarket. I spend a lot longer choosing items. Have had several chats with people while standing looking at things along the lines of “it’s all so bloody expensive”
I’m love meeting people in the community. It’s fun and the volunteers in my local Yes group are awesome. I’m so glad I’ve got involved. I’m doing some volunteering at pre-polls over the next few weeks.
🧵A thread on some resources that helped me get more understanding of the experiences of Transgender people and cut through the fear-mongering on issues like participation in sport, bathrooms, inclusive language, gender-affirming care.
And it’s been so useful for me because sometimes when I offer info to people, in my head I’m thinking “oh gee this could be tough” but then they take the info, and say “thanks” or “I’m a Yes” or we have a chat. It’s made me notice and reflect on my own unconscious/implicit biases
Then there’s people who don’t know what’s happening and that’s led to good conversations about the referendum process and opportunity to provide info that goes into more detail (a q&a booklet). Some people have asked about what they’ve heard and whether it’s true.
This is a must watch. I’m not a council shill by any means but I reported on local councils when I was a reporter & worked at a metro Melbourne council for 4 years. I’ve seen inner workings & the immense work that goes into everything. There’s a lot to be concerned about here.
Phenomenal work by

It shows just how unhinged, radical and antisemitic these people are.

The smell from whatever it was that teachers used to make worksheets. I’m talking early 1980s. Pre-photo copiers/printers. I can smell it now.
Father Joseph Doyle retired suddenly from Our Lady of Lourdes parish in 2005, but it took more than decade for the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne to tell parishioners he had abused children.
From what I've observed during the

campaign there n eds to be serious consequences for

. Also the MSM has a ot to answer for.

I set a timer for 10 mins and see how much I can get done like put washing away, do some tidying up. I can get a fair bit done!
I’m no genius but I feel like I’m being gaslit every time I get on Twitter by seeing how ignorant people are. It’s actually messing with my head. Like is wilful ignorance the new thing? It’s like people are feeling totally safe to say the most ridiculous, offensive stuff ever.
I don’t get it. They can travel interstate to protest and wave their flags and say whatever s*** they want… Oppression?? And a massive 🖕to all of them for forcing the cancellation of Lifeline’s Book Fair.
Channeling the language of my teen daughters, Senator Blabbet is a total “pick me girl” - desperately trying to get attention of the Tates, Jordan Peterson, Donald Trump Jr, Candace Owens, Vivek Ramaswamy… literally a despo.
I’ve lived in the Aston electorate happily for almost 15yrs but you kind of resign yourself to the fact it’s a really safe seat and think your vote can’t nudge anything. Enter
@MaryDoyle4Aston
and her team - electric! 👏🏼 👏🏼
Was at Boronia station early this morning for Aston for Yes
@yes23au
Positive vibes. Lots of people took info. Many said “I’m voting yes” or “I’ve already got info and I’m voting yes”. One guy took a bunch of flyers to take to work.

Current thoughts 💭 If people want to get covid boosters, how does it affect you? It doesn’t.
Drag story times? Concentrate on your own kids & how you raise them.
People who identify as non-binary or trans…Leave them alone. Fuck off and mind your own business.
#ThoughtForTheDay
🧵indulge me here. Thread on the current whining from some people that "masculinity is under threat". Clinging on to Traditional masculinity "norms" is harmful. I'm immediately suss on anyone who is obsessed with "men aren't men anymore" or rant "protect our kids".
It sounds silly but being on pre-polls and hearing people say "vote no" just cuts deep. And standing there looking at signs that say
"Don't know? Vote no"... the sentiment is insulting the voters and immoral IMO.
#VoiceToParliament
#VoteYes
#yes23
I’m still buzzing with good vibes after spending today at Eltham Library 🌈with amazing people. So much fun and positivity. The “protect the kids” group was pretty ineffective, no matter what you see from them. No one could hear them. One of the signs said “Save your childs”.

Over 60 women whom I know get menstrual-type cramps when they are just seated next to vaccinated women for an hour or so, ie at a lecture or play, or when they stay in hotels where vaccinated women have slept.
