@jsngr “Abstracted away entirely” is an absurdly long asymptote - LLMs are the interface between unstructured human utterances and high level application DSLs (they might also build the translation to js/python implementation layers) - but those DSLs are a necessary intermediary layer.

When ChatGPT uses your exact words in its answer to you - is it just telling you what it thinks you want to hear?

good read: the part about the split brain experiments, and how the left brain would fabricate explanations for what the right brain directed the subject to do makes me think of LLMs hallucinating. maybe GPT4 is just a left brain in need of a right brain?
