7 years ago today we launched Slack to the world.
We started the day with a connected users record of 9.8K. Almost ten thousand humans! Using the little thing we made! We made about $5K from paid seats.

A funny Slack detail. We decided to charge $8/mth for the initial Standard plan, and offer 2 months free if you paid annually.
($80/year) / 12 = $6.66
$6.66 is an inauspicious number to show to a potential customer, so we hard-coded templates everywhere to round it up to $6.67

Personally, I have never had mobile notifications on for Slack, and have everything but DMs + mentions turned off too. This works for me.
