@Pb6633 Ah, apologies. That's my bad. The climate on X often has me jumping to the worst conclusions π
. I'd worry if those sorts of schools had a louder voice though, the climates in such schools is often much more forgiving for ineffective pedagogies & curricula etc.

@Dr_R_Colvile @adamboxer1 But not knowing stuff absolutely does mean that students can't problem solve

@Pb6633 Is this a dig at me for working in a big London independent school? Rereading it again, I'm not sure

@adamboxer1 This sentence in particular alarmed me: "It is undoubtedly the case that a physics curriculum has to include some substantive physics content. However, physics is as much about what students can do as what they know." HOW CAN STUDENTS DO WHAT THEY DON'T KNOW

Important update re. equation sheets. Not unexpected tbh.
Students taking GCSE maths, physics and combined science exams in 2025, 2026 and 2027 will be provided with formulae and revised equation sheets. @educationgovuk @ASCL_UK @SFCA_info @AoC_info @AQA @PearsonEdexcel @thejmcuk @NCETM @Just_Maths @ChatPhysics

Excellent demo!
Year 11 triple physics. The aluminium block gives a measurable change (the iron blocks needed the older 0-10 Newton metres) Can then either look at the beaker scale or calculate block volume to check if the the change on newton meter is the same as the weight of displaced water

@robo25261 @OxfordPhysics @OxOutreach Most of mine didnβt even get paper!! Working on mini whiteboards is way harder! Think my students said 42 questions?
