Dear wotc: Im not a play design expert but I can safely say that things are messed up. If Oko is the problem, ban it. Accept that it was a mistake and move on. It will see play in eternal formats. Players dont deserve to play this miserable format in MC/PTQ/GPs in the next months

As a store owner it is very awkard to explain my customers that I cant sell boosters/singles to them, cant have drafts, and they cant use the cards they opened at the pre release this week. Meanwhile, they can buy these on Arena and MTGO and even play a PTQ w/ the new cards there

It's a good time to remember that 3 years ago we introduced a free "anti ban insurance" at our store. Basically if you buy a card from us and it is banned in ANY format at ANY time you have 30 days to return it for a full refund in store credit. Yes, lifetime protection.

Chris Kvartek came from basically nothing to MPL and Worlds invites while crushing BOTH tabletop and Arena MC is my favorite competitive story of the year - all grinding the hard way.

With all the problems we face in Latin America, we will have three players at worlds. This is specially impressive if you consider that North America has two.
Worth noting that we will have only one GP in 2020 and the “americas” region wont have any PT outside USA.

Last weekend, Oko was included in:
12/16 decks of MCQW
The champion of the Vintage, Pioneer AND Legacy MTGO challenges.
7/8 top8 decks in the SCG Open.
And it is not slowing down, it is in 7/8 MPL weekly decks and these decks have 24 noxious grasp and 4 arther gust main.

In the last months we saw a lot of cards being banned and even a mechanic changing (companion).
In my opinion none of these are as unfun and miserable to play against as Uro is. In any format.
While this card has its free pass, we will see more and more bans.

I know it is only the first year and it has a lot of room to improve but the MPL weekly play is the most unexciting MTG show around. Playing for a bye isnt appealing for viewers (as one, I couldnt care less) and being pre recorded just adds insult to injury.

Like it or not, WotC has been faster to address some issues lately: Invoke prejudice ban, Austin unban, fires ban, companion change, LGS help, etc.
Credit given when credit is due, they are far from perfect but I believe their mentality changed in the last few weeks.
Thumbs up.

was one of my worst mtg experiences ever - I almost dropped at 2-1. All my matches took almost an hour, SB cards main, extremely boring matches.
The format was bad with Field, but playable. Now it is unbearable. Please "emergency fix" this before the MC.

- simplify how your leagues work.

Impressive what a OP announcement (far from ideal) with a plan for the next 12 months with a clear path to pro can do.
Even with COVID we can have some sort of premier play.

to play/watch.
It's the opposite of MPL weekly: Live matches, actual prizes everybody understands, social media engagement, mix of pros and newcomers.
I hope to see MPL/Rivals evolving into something like that.

Companions are great and they came to change MTG the way PW did in Lorwyn. Hope to see them in every set.

Btw, people feel good using Nissa to boost 50% of a Stream of Life. Why not use it to boost a fireball? **Feels Amazing**🧐🧐

I only realized on friday that I wasnt qualified for MCQW yet and I was gold1. 2 days later and a winrate of ~85% we found ourselves on Mythic 300. I hope it holds since Im travelling today. Haste is broken (Id try the Robin hood guy over Goblin but didnt have enough wild cars).

Against all odds we did on the first try!!! There's a lot of Winota and Monoreds in the Bo1 so maximizing sharks and an extra bounce effect did wonders. Also 4 grazers to have more explosive draws.

Disappointing outcome for the MOCS today. The event crashed and WotC did and said nothing. I understand resources taken away from MTGO and put into Arena, but if they're going to revamp the client, launch MH early, and have a 250k MOCS they should be able to give us one sentence

While I believe his ban was unfair and should be lifted, you have the right to disagree and keep him banned.

I had to tell some players that qualified for the first time to a PT (and would make an international travel for the first time) that they would play the event on Arena. It was heartbreaking for both of us.

If you checked the Player's Tour and Magic Fests schedule and are confused about the geography of our continent, I can confirm that:
- São Paulo isnt the only city in LATAM.
- AmericaS include North, Central and South.
FWIW, LATAM is losing 1 GP per year. I fear for 2021...

If Im not mistaken, besides MPL/Rivals players, Latam will have a single representant at PT Finals - the winner of our only GP.
Thats what happens when the system is designed to reward double spiking to get there with very few chances to do so .

I really hope new (to MTG) players never get paired vs Nexus of Fate decks in arena bo1 ladder. Actually nobody deserves to play vs KCI in standard and sometimes never have a turn 4.
As someone who really enjoys the fast games of bo1, not having SB leads to frustrating games.

Top4 at the Standard challenge (part of it streamed!) with UG mutate stompy (4-1 vs Yorion decks). I believe it is a solid tier 2 deck that has problems with aether gusts and t1 Fox on the draw.
