What people are forgetting is the MVP is a game-by-game race more than just end of season statistics. Lamar was 4th in odds going to the San Fran game late last season and Purdy was 1st. Bcuz of how that game played out, they simply switched places after that game.

Not entirely true bcuz they've, more often than not, given the award to the player who had the best statistical season one of the best teams. Let's just be honest and say MVP is just a cool name for the award, but the criteria for it varies from year to year.
It’s the Most Valuable player. Not the “best player,” that’s the All Pro. Not the “best damn dude award,” that’s made up. Not the “most outstanding player,” that’s the Heisman. #JoshAllen #LamarJackson
