Lots of ~discourse~ around this, and let me just say that screaming kids are the bane of my life. I went to A WINE TASTING recently and someone brought their toddler who was allowed to run around shouting, banging things, causing general disruption. Kid-free areas should exist.
Just to save you a click, he paid £120 in rent every month to his parents and worked for a business owned by his parents. No excuse, yeah? God these stories are so infuriating.
@PrydeMoon
Oh for sure no, I’m not really arsed on playing kids vs dogs as the sign seems to be doing. I’m more on about people saying that excluding kids from any space is a bad thing.
🚨 BREAKING: Labour is slashing benefits for older Britons, with 10 million pensioners losing their winter fuel allowance under Labour cutbacks.
According to Age UK, 18% of pensioners live in poverty. Labour has just slashed a key benefit that many of them rely on.
If there was a two minute clap for everyone that had died of COVID-19 in the UK then we’d be clapping non-stop from 6pm tonight until 10am on the 8th of September.

No, I’m seeking to exclude anyone who wants to bring a kid to the pub. Kids aren’t brought to the pub for their own enjoyment. They’re brought because the parents want to enjoy themselves and have to bring their kid.
Absolutely nothing from the Tories - NOTHING - on a violent homophobic hate crime occurring in the country’s capital. Nothing from the Prime Minister. Nothing from the Minister for Equalities. Nothing. They truly do despise us, and aren’t even trying to hide it any more.
People are choosing between heating and eating this winter because of cuts to Universal Credit and skyrocketing energy bills, but yeah, it’s the boy in the dress that’s “everything wrong with modern Britain.”
A lovely lady in the queue at the lounge overheard JJ saying it was our honeymoon and bought us two glasses of champagne. Probably the earliest I’ve ever had Moët, but definitely not mad about it. 🥹
Back in the 1960s, when I was a teenager, the vibe was to be your true self, you'd be accepted. Dress as you want, live as you want, have consensual sex with who you want, do no harm. We thought that was how the world wld progress, esp for women's equality. But hate is winning.
“Geoffrey Cox worked 1066 hours in the last year. Is that acceptable?”
“I can’t do that maths in my head. Divide 1066 by 52, is that ten hours a week? Or thereabouts?”
If this were Diane Abbott then the right-wing press would be having a field day.
I’ve always wondered why Pride on the Isle of Wight is called Isle of Pride, and then I realised that Isle of Wight Pride doesn’t quite have the right ring to it. 🥴
Interesting that LGB, the term used by Twitter-obsessed GCs and transphobes, got just 3% in this poll. Statistically, and actually, a complete irrelevance. And this minority - this tiny, tiny minority in the community - are the people that Starmer is now kowtowing to. Shameful.
LGBT is the acronym the media tends to use to represent the queer community, but queer Britons themselves are more likely to use LGBTQ+
LGBTQ+ 29%
LGBTQ 13%
Combined: 42%
LGBT 21%
LGBT+ 8%
Combined: 29%
LGBTQIA+ 11%
LGBTQIA 2%
Combined: 13%
Great to see

taking tough, decisive action to slash net migration. The new higher income threshold will have a real impact, as will reducing family dependents. Cutting immigration closer to the 2019 target of 250k is foundational to recovering the Tories' fortunes.
Read the replies to this and you’ll realise why we need to stand shoulder to shoulder with our trans brothers and sisters in this fight. Make this your cover photo.

I find it really odd how so many "I'd never be friends with a Tory" left wing figures have so much love for

Ritchie in the series says he voted Conservative.
If the modern sectarian left were in that house then with their mindset now, they would have shunned him.
Rosie Duffield doesn’t care about this scandal whatsoever. She’s looking for any current issue as an excuse to kick the government while she storms off into irrelevance. She should never have been allowed to stand as a candidate in the first place, and I’m delighted she’s gone.
Tony Blair was the last UK Prime Minister to be admitted to hospital, in October 2003
Prior to that, Margaret Thatcher had an hour-long eye operation on her eye

He was reported for it, and Twitter decided that it wasn’t against its Terms of Service, because it obviously isn’t. Anyone pretending this is incitement to violence is a massive bedwetter, a political opportunist, or probably both.

We have the worst economic hit from the pandemic and the second highest number of deaths in Europe. This isn’t a few difficult decisions, it is comprehensive and catastrophic mismanagement on a national level. Take off the Tory-tinted spectacles and look at the reality for once.
@LindaVijeh
@TomHulme79
She has the right to decide, sure. It doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking that she’s basing her decision on baseless conspiracy theories that have been invented and shared by random folk on Facebook.
Remember when we were called hysterical and paranoid for saying that the levels of transphobia in modern political discourse would lead to another Section 28?
Well, here’s an MP quite literally calling for it. You’re a complete disgrace,

This isn't what happened.
Joanna knows that this isn't what happened.
Joanna doesn't care that this isn't what happened.
Joanna has an agenda and will use what didn't happen to push that agenda.

Throwing someone out of a bar and refusing them a service on grounds of their sexuality is a breach of the Equality act. Basically saying you can’t be a lesbian unless you’re my kind of lesbian. From a man. Is unacceptable
The year is 2063. The pandemic is a distant memory. Our economy has long-since recovered and COVID-19 infection rates are negligible. Manchester remains in Tier 3.
One in five LGBT people have experienced a hate crime or incident in the last 12 months.
Two in five trans people have experienced a hate crime or incident in the last 12 months.
Four in five hate crimes go unreported, partially because of idiots like Darren.
Rosie Duffield’s interview needs to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
@AngelaRayner
said that she needs to reflect on her comments. She has done so, and she has doubled down. It’s time to withdraw the whip.
Costco is now offering a 157-piece Le Creuset set for $4,500 that arrives at your home on a PALLET
Probably every kitchen item you will ever need. Worth it?
It’s been pretty depressing to see Diane Abbott repeatedly standing and not get called while actual cult member Mark Francois is called to ask some weird nebulous question about D-Day and multiple people are called to ask about railway lines and local rugby clubs.

Rosie Duffield is now setting her followers on LGBT Labour and also threatening to take PinkNews, one of the largest LGBTQ publications in the world, “to task.”
Insidious, worrying, and not the behaviour of a person fit to be a Labour MP.

I defs agree with your sentiment here but just a reminder that the Period Products Act was introduced by Monica Lennon, a Labour MSP, and was initially opposed by SNP leadership until a successful internal lobbying campaign.
