@Dhru_Dynamo We can all suggest things,it’s whether it’s actually enforceable/possible/common sense/fair/worth airtime. I suggest @NHSEngland @wesstreeting consider the value of dentistry and whether they serious about saving it as ultimately only they can, or let it die as it currently is

I would argue children aren’t skipping anything, it’s their parents who don’t want to either take advice, or action it leading to a huge detriment to their child’s oral health and well-being. Dental decay is in 99% of cases preventable. There needs to be shared responsibility
The latest research has revealed that children are skipping oral health recommendations which is leading to dental health issues. Find out more here: ➡️ #flossing #floss #children #oralhealth #oralhygiene #toothdecay #dental #dentistry

If you’re going to read 1 thing today… this is a fantastic piece by @DrPaulLeavy summing up what is actually happening on the ground and why the NHS system is so broken. National commissioners might want to take notes…(or not as seems to be the norm)

Associates ie those majority of those delivering high street dental care…. This is worth a read. You are assets, know your worth and demand a slice of the pie.
To fellow dental associates. Please use this link to find advice from @TheBDA regarding the impact of the uplift on us. Contrary to comments I have received via other posts it is not anti practice owners but has info associates may be unaware of.

Many teams feel an absolute nothingness as they are just getting on with the job of attending to the needs of the thousands of patients let down by the NHS and the forgotten promises of those in power. The patient suffers, the profession is stoic.
@ADG_Dental @TheBDA @SKinnock @wesstreeting Worth a read and to know how everyone in the profession feels. Many feel v let down. I never had any expectations.

@crooks_peter Thanks Peter, 👍🏽I’ve seen this. Yes a list of no shit Sherlock recommendations and words for the sake of wordy wordiness but no actual plan for system reform or tangible improvements that will directly help patients any time soon. Where are the timelines? Who’s accountable?

What does ‘saving’ actually mean? Can you get in to see dentist onNHS when in pain? No. Can you see an NHS dentist as you’re concerned about your oral health? No. Are you able to complain re:treatment knowing you won’t get chucked off if you do? No. Saving? It’s already dead.
Government has repeatedly stated its intention to ‘save’ NHS dentistry. When we’re facing an exodus from the workforce deeds clearly aren’t matching words.

@joehendron1 @TheBDA @wesstreeting @SKinnock Well it’s exactly that Joe, guff! Also known as absolute boll**ks/kicking the can/let’s keep promising ‘tomorrow’ in the hope their morale hits rock bottom and they leave and we can blame them for the catastrophic failure of NHS dentistry instead of our own ineptitude. 😤
