I’m with two people who have never seen one of the funniest movies ever made and also the greatest Tom Hanks movie of all time, The Burbs. Anyone who’s never seen this should immediately rectify this error.
Fun little fact, Dickey Betts was having an affair with a woman and he wanted to write a song for her. He couldn’t name it Carmella after her for obvious reasons. Their secret rendezvous were taking place at a cemetery, and the tombstone read in memory of Elizabeth Reed.
Pete Townsend shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as David Gilmour. He’s not in Dave’s stratosphere. Maybe he could wash Dave’s underwear, but that’s about it. What an infuriating question.
Happy 30th birthday to one of the best albums and best album covers of ever made. One of the best Dean and Gene ever did and that’s saying a lot because they’re the best.
Not sure that there is a guitarist ever in history that the guitar was just part of their body than SRV. My favorite part of any podcast is Barber saying he quit the football team because SRV died, because the coach didn’t seem to care as much as he did.
Happy 4th birthday to the world’s greatest!!! He’s my best buddy I’ve ever had and there is no one greater than the king of the world, King Frank. Nothing but marrow bones and a t bone steak in his future today, along with some award winning ear scratches.
What a smoking show beginning to end. You can’t set the tone better than better than that waves>space train>waves. Then they didn’t let up from the first note of set 2. Fucking monster Shelby buildup. Monster astronaut. Everything delivered. And fucking AWOL’s Blues!!!
After the last few nights I’d say it’s safe to say that the west coast loves the Disco Biscuits. Had the best time on my little run and met too many great people. Can’t wait to see them again
Two things after seeing these guys again. One, they are one of the best bands on the planet. Two, any of you that thought that Trey was going to sit in with them, to do what exactly? Maybe give Stu some water when he was thirsty? He’s definitely not adding anything musically.
This jam back into Astronaut from Camp 2005 will never get old to me. Such a happy jam, and you can see how much the band are vibing to it while playing.
Got out of the shower and YouTube was playing some guitar instructor getting his head kicked in by my guy Terry Kath. Glad to see people are realizing how much of a fucking beast he was.
Happy 50th birthday to the greatest to ever do it!! One of the main reason I love the drums as much as I do. A huge reason I fell in love with tDB. The provider of all my favorite beats as a youth. Cheers Professor!!! Hope you have the most amazing day ever
@samaltman1
Thank you Disco Biscuits! I’m sure I’m probably speaking for a lot of people, but I needed this show tonight, and I’m not sure you could’ve delivered better.
Pretty awesome that tDB can play nothing but new songs and it’s still incredible and interesting throughout the whole night. If another jam band I can think of does that, I’m walking out.
Brownie writing a setlist:
“We need to make sure the highs and the lows are equally matched. Need the bpm’s to be perfect for dancing. Need a dark jam, need a bliss jam, and need every other type of jam we do in between”
Barber writing a setlist:
Road Song > Texas Pussy
I need to find an artist to render me a picture of Jerry Garcia and Frank Zappa together handing Barber the torch for a historical accurate purposes. People need to know that Trey never possessed said torch to hand to anyone.
This man lead the charge of an awesome show last night. The day I tell people in the house “I hope we get a very moon resurgence” they open up with a monster into spacebird. Insane Shelby peak, Freeze was sick, but the jam into Candy was highlight for me. Incredible improvisation
Happy 25th anniversary to my first show and one legendary night at Schuba’s. Unique setlist with an absolutely mind blowing psychedelic second set that still crushes me every time I hear it. Great stuff. Couldn’t recommend a show more.
I love that the Beatles didn’t want a lot of George’s songs for their albums, and he said fuck it, and stunted on all of them with a number 1 triple album.
Happy 25th anniversary to one of the greatest shows ever played. Can’t really pick out a highlight because the whole show is flawless. Chaotic madness at its finest. One of the perfect shows and it should be a perfect 5, not 4.86. BRING BACK THIEVING MAGPIE!!!
This set lives rent free in my head. If I go more than a minute without being able to make a decision of what to listen to I just always go to this masterpiece. I’ve heard it 10,000 times and I’ll hear it 10,000 more (untimely death voids this statement)
I am fearful that the the venue that hosts the next show that plays (preferably opens with) 7-11’s loadbearing walls won’t be enough support to keep the building standing.
After seeing a ton of Biscuits on the east coast, and a ton in the middle of the country, and now some on the west coast, I can without a doubt give the award to biggest bunch of chompers to the great state of Colorado. You guys don’t even have runners up.
What a fun night for my first night of the tour. Will never tire of hearing Pygmy, really gorgeous Astronaut, and an awesome Aceetobee ending. Second set was absolute flames. Uber glue>B+C is so dirty, and loved the long buildup into Space train. Can’t wait for tonight.
Whatever you do today, don’t be the person that forgets to listen to this show. 22 years ago today one of the all time best shows to ever grace the earth (and probably all the universe). Personal Mount Rushmore show for me. The first set is insane, and the second set is better ⛽️
Woke up feeling like watching 12/30/01. A perfect show, and probably only the second best show played on December 30th by them, which they’ve played many classics.
Hope everybody is enjoying the Phish. Machine Gun Trey is my favorite version of Phish. Im always in the minority and I know everyone prefers the later 90’s stuff, but 91-95 Trey is godlike to me. I wish I was 1% of that guitarist.
Wear this hoodie for months in Seattle not one person mentioned it ever. In Colorado for less than 24 hours have had like 9 people compliment it while I’m just walking the street.
