The policy roundtable 2 of #EPHP2024 was moderated by @dr_hebbar, Assistant Director (Research) at IPH Bengaluru and Arun Nair from ACCESS Health International with an illustrious panel of speakers. Rajan Khobragade, IAS, Govt of Kerala spoke about the evidence based practices and policy making mechanisms that kerala has been fostering, which was demonstrated during covid-19 when the strength of health systems was tested and kerala performed admirably. He also warned on blind usage of tech or AI can be detrimental and called for mindful tech based interventions. @doctorsoumya of @mssrf remarked on the instances of success stories that were possible through evidence-based large scale  implementation programs and advised organizations to build resilience and capacity in implementation research. Uma Mahadevan, IAS, Government of Karnataka deliberated on the balance of skill development for human digital interaction while being mindful of the risks. She discussed the role of Grama Arogya: the initiative of the RDPR department by Govt. of Karnataka and its functioning during the pandemic. Darez Ahamed, IAS, Government of Tamil Nadu remarked on Tamil nadu’s experience in attempting to track morbidity patterns through full coverage of birth certificates, death certificates and wider civil registration which will help in response time improvement for health emergencies. Weerasak Putthasri, National Health Commission Office (NHCO), Thailand commented on the benefits of evidence based policy making with successful instances from Thailand and how evidence promotes governance by partnerships, a significant reason for Thailand’s success with a resilient health system. #20yearsofIPH #ephp2024 #globalhealth #publichealth #IPHbengaluru
