Closing of airspace and economic sanctions were more of a eu decision and not nato as far as i know. Turkey doesnt have the economic advantage of being in the eu and is in an economic crisis currently.

Leaving out the obvious fact that many syrians are working way below minimum wage and much longer hours. All the while millions of Turkish youth are out of jobs. They are seen as necessary slave labor to survive the economic crisis. Its not sustainable.
