@7Kiwi These are the consequences of market interference. It's a bad idea to tinker with the energy market. We didn't have demand variability or zonal pricing when the market was regulating itself. Now, we're saddled with expensive energy bills and a wasteful/inefficient/rigid market.

@HakunaMatata26C Lots of farmers have engaged their accountants who are projecting that the inheritance tax will damage small family farms. Yet, he's claiming that farmers do not understand the policy. He's insulting the intelligence of our farmers. Totally unacceptable.

@7Kiwi These people know very well that solar and wind cannot cater for peak demand. So they're insisting that govt must compel consumers to accept regular blackouts as the new norm. This is a very cynical suggestion, given the huge subsidies that these renewable producers are enjoying.

@Citi973 The engineering division of the military can help build small modular bridges in remote areas where communities are required to deal with perilous river crossings on a daily basis. We could do with the knowledge and expertise of the military.

@7Kiwi Arbitrary targets are naturally difficult to achieve. A policy that ignores physics and the limits of technology is bound to fail.

@JamesMelville All part of the WEF mantra: "You will own nothing and be happy." Only a warped and misguided ideology will compel politicians to wage war on the farmers who toil night and day to feed them.

@7Kiwi "Octopus Energy...to strengthen the role of households in managing grid constraints, reducing the need to turn on expensive & polluting fossil fuel plants." = "We've distorted the market to make wind & solar the primary sources, although they're incapable of meeting peak demand"

@TiceRichard The Energy Secretary has developed a national energy strategy based on the goodwill of so-called allies. As a result, our energy bills are unaffordable, and our situation is even more precarious. Is this his idea of energy security?

@Artemisfornow It's a legitimate question. There must be a proper cost benefit analysis of the net zero policy.

@aDissentient The prospects of blackouts were very remote when we depended on dictators and petrol states for our energy needs. Blackout are now a possibility, now that we've combined 'energy security' with 'net zero'. Whose idea was it to put ourselves in this precarious situation?

@TheABD As this controversial scheme has shown, it is very costly to circumvent democratic processes with deception and gaslighting. Many of these controversial schemes are being dismantled after councils had ignored consultations and pressed ahead. Its a complete waste of money.

@latimeralder The dangers of signing on the dotted line before you read a document. She committed to arbitrary legally binding targets before realising the mistake she's made. Very reckless and irresponsible.

@ioisours We must have a national audit for all the controversial transport schemes that went ahead in spite of popular opposition and have been subsequently abandoned. The irresponsible spending of taxpayers money must stop.
