I imagine that the things I'll be most passionate about on X next year are: - 1. SMEs and growth/productivity 2. Less tribal politics 3. The breakdown of our civil society 4. Lack of resilience (especially Gen Z and Alpha) 5. Sport 6. Guns in America #HappyNewYear

@thetimes The left wing of the Labour Party wishes to overthrow the market economy. Shall we not listen to them?

@dsmitheconomics I’m pretty sure we were rubbish at measuring national productivity back then and I’ve seen nothing to convince me we’re doing it more accurately now 😁

@ShipleyWrites It’s a serious issue, I’m not sure Robert Jenrick picking it up is very helpful to the cause.

@thetimes And we wonder why we have 100s of 1,000s of Gen Z’s avoiding work because of self-diagnosed mental health issues that the professionals fail to properly challenge.

Thoroughly enjoyed @TimesRadio #HowToWinAnElection today, as always. Top marks to @pollymackenzie @Dannythefink and @hugorifkind for being on their very best behaviour, despite the provocation.

First time listener. Really enjoyed the insight, although I’m not sure the leadership involvement in the detail is de rigueur. #straighttostuart. Was the fiery chicken tikka masala too spicy for Tunbridge Wells? Can’t find it anymore 😁
This week on the @businessleader podcast we spoke to @MachinStuart1 about the turnaround of @marksandspencer. What is the story behind the turnaround and the chief executive? Part one Part two

@PolitlcsUK The responses here show the whole point of Twitter. A whole series of people who they they know better than everyone else and have the inside track on what 'really' happens in the world. Juvenile.

Such is the waistline challenge in life, I do my best to avoid burgers. I’ve not been to @roddyburger, however, the fact that it’s up for such a prestigious award may persuade me to give it a try.

@polcurrency I agree with @edballs on this one. The @premierleague cannot be trusted to be the custodians of the whole game @George_Osborne

@miriam_cates People will blame politicians for this because they're an easy target. We've democratised ignorance, I'm not sure there is anything we can do to reverse this, apart from taking social media away from under 16s. It will take generations to fix it.

@TheTennisLetter That’ll be a disappointment for the haters who ‘knew’ it would end after Aus Open.

@ChrisLangWriter Outstanding start to the series. There will be plenty of people who have never tried it. They really shoul, it’s as good as Line of Duty isn’t it @jed_mercurio

@anandMenon1 @SophieStowers As much as I despair about Brexit, trying to introduce a new customs union will only push more votes towards Reform.

The Labour philosophy is still centred around the working class, even though those voters have moved on, especially in the red wall The PM wasn't able to define 'workers' in advance of the budget, and Labour still defends shirkers because they feel obliged to see them as victims
