We once had a home in Omdurman. Took most of my grandparents' life to save for it. My mom & 6 siblings spent $ maintaining it yearly. The yard grew guava & sometimes oranges, the porch held generations of weddings.
Its destroyed, looted. Her siblings had to flee it w small kids.
We once had a home in Gaza. My dad built it from scratch. He saved every penny. He designed it to ensure there is a garden, plenty of light, and lots of space. We once had a land, with +50 olive trees, various plants of veggies and fruits, and more sheep, rabbits, and lambs.
