Lot of non-pediatricians trying to weigh in on masks & language development. There is no evidence that masks delay speech so they rely on a strawman argument that babies/toddlers aren't seeing faces in a 100% masked world. It's a claim that can be dismissed just by looking around

The central dogma of molecular biology (DNA->RNA->protein) is taught in high school. mRNA does not edit our DNA. It can't. mRNA is more like sending a recipe via snapchat. It's a transcription of the master copy of the recipe (the DNA) that lasts for hours before self-deleting

Myth: Hep B is only spread by sex. The virus can spread to children from household contacts in 30% of cases. A single mL of infected blood can contain a billion of viruses, which is why sharing toothbrushes, chewing gum or bites on the playground are thought to transmit Hep B.

If you're asking people to pay for access to your public health takes, then you don't understand public health.

Love when people try to flaunt their credentials as some sort of trump card.

Oh great. The trolls have found this tweet. Here's my challenge: find a case of GBS onsetting within hours of a vaccine, explain the pathophysiology & then provide proof that this is what's happening to Governor Newsom.

Early in residency, I was worried that antivax harassment would hurt my career so I kept quiet. Then I saw too many kids harmed by preventable diseases. We can't keep quiet in the face of dangerous & harmful antivax misinformation #VaccinesWork #VaccinesSaveLives #DoctorsSpeakUp

@TaraLaRosa If this vaccine (that doesn't yet exist) is proven to be safe & effective, then yes you would be an antivaxxer. As well as a conspiracy theorist.

I know many doctors that took paycuts as a result of this pandemic. I don't know a single doctor making more money as a result of this pandemic (expect maybe those promoting snake oil like HCQ)

Like most surgeons, I made less during the pandemic because we had to cancel and postpone many elective surgeries. I don't know a single physician who made more money during this pandemic. Many of my colleagues have worked longer hours, w/ inadequate PPE, risking their own safety
