Sure I did let Iginla slide. However, if you truly do your research, he was never meant to be a top ten player. Iginla did worse on a team with more NHL prospects and didn't 'burst' onto the scene until Cristall's final year with the Rockets. Therefore, your argument is still invalid. Cristall's ability far outweighs DeBrincat's.

His future abilities is questionable. Although he was just drafted a year ago, his numbers in his first season in SHL are not great and he is also playing on a bad club. His ability to grow into a true NHL producing winger, relies on his will and determination to push through his adversities, which remains to be seen.

@GoilersGunners @ByronMBader I would recommend researching before you comment. He has only played on one team with a top ten pick and that is his current team the Spokane Chiefs. Also, just because you play in a WJC, doesn't mean you are an elite player....

He is having a down year because he is being forced into a role he is not made for. Can Trocheck produce? Sure. Can he play defense? Most certainly. Has he ever played a 1C in his life outside of now? No. He cannot handle the opposition. He has always benefited from seeing the second or third best defensive lines. It doesn't help that teams only consider Rangers top line a threat either, so they focus all of their defensive resources on shutting them down.
