nah its just in og homestuck we see that lil cal contains the souls of caliborn, gamzee and arquiusprite. when dave first meets dirk he speculates that bro might have been manipulated/corrupted by the souls in lil cal but nothing is ever confirmed so the rest is fanon

yeah he was! i won't get into the whole bro redemption spiel but tldr; he's still a dirk, and (in my opinion) he has the potential to be better. obv this doesnt justify how he treated dave but they have a complex relationship and i like seeing them try to navigate it in fanon

the corruption thing is vaguely implied in canon but not confirmed, it's all left very open to interpretation so people have different hcs

which is one of the reasons im really interested in seeing him interact with the dave from the alpha timeline, who grew up without a bro and is therefore very different to beta!dave. i think they'd be wary of each other at first, but eventually they'd get along!
