@Denny2point0 We have gone before bolting previous years. We had enough N on to get us through bolting so we weren’t in a rush this year to get it on. Putting it on the leaf can help you be a bit more flexible on timing as the plant takes it in so quickly

@ArnstAg @marrettfarms Most Canadian urea manufacturers produce low biuret urea. Used lots of urea from Yara at Belle Plain. We don’t use anything that has been on a train or through a retailers plant. Want it as clean as possible.

@marrettfarms Low biuret urea and warm water! We do approximately 830 gal of water with 2204lbs of urea. That gets us a total of 1000 gal of solution. We will spray it on at 5 gal or 10 gal

@DrewCardy We use it as a tool to split up our nitrogen. We can reduce what goes down in the drill and if it doesn’t rain we won’t apply it. It has a 4.2 to 1 efficiency compared to applying N through the soil

@wooffwayne Using melted urea gives you 4.2 to 1 efficiency compared to 28. It gets sprayed with fan nozzles so the plant takes it in through the leaf rather than roots. 5 gal of this blend gives us 5 lbs of actual N

@mcrae_brett @Syngenta @canterraseeds Okay that’s very interesting. We do one pass of 10 gal on cereals/canola about 10 days after herbicide. Do you cut herbicide rate when putting melted urea with it? I’ve heard of possibly cutting 30%?
