We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
Fixers, enablers, problem solvers and gentlemen.
Warrant Officers of the finest Regiment of Foot Guards. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Picked up my new tunic, the attention to detail in producing our ceremonial uniform is outstanding. Looking forward to my first public duty as an officer in April.
22 years today I jumped on that train to Harrogate to begin my career as a Guardsman. Fortunate to have 3.5 years left as a soldier, who knows what this year will bring. I still get excited when I iron my kit on a Sunday; when that stops I will.
Not normally one to jump on these types of band wagons but this one’s close to my heart
Our police force are undermanned well under paid and over criticised by Karen with her NVQ level 1 in nail care who “pays their wages”
If this week hasn’t proven they need to be better
Terrible news this morning. The legend that is Big Mitch has passed away. Thoughts are with his family and all his blue red blue brothers. Rest in peace old friend💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Long night last night on the over night rehearsal. Photo in Weli B this morning. Home, hours sleep, admin and out the door for the Buck Palace Garden Party with Mrs H.
One day we will never forget. Op Panthers Claw 2009. Comd Offr KIA. The affect this had on the Bn was unreal, Gdsm took a kick to the balls but they got up, dusted off and took the fight back to the enemy. Excellence in action. Cymru am Byth. RIP Sir 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Honoured to receive the news today I’ve been awarded a 3 Star Commendation for my small part in the ceremonial
activities in Wales to honour the death. of our late Queen as part of Op Bridge 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️

15 years to the day I was in a small compound on the canal during operation Panthers Claw, 7 days before I was teaching recruits at ITC, to train them and deploy them was a great honour.
I remember this day, listening to the Zap numbers on the net trying to figure out who it
So pay rise, let’s be honest it’s good. I joined the army without a single qual. I’m a WO2 on 50k that lives in Windsor for £400 a month rent. I knew what the pay was when I joined, I pushed to promote to earn more. I Gen don’t see the issue. Feel free to shoot me at dawn 🤣💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Not one Non Commissioned Officer in the Infantry has been awarded an MBE/OBE in the new years honours list. Do we not write people up or too humble to accept we’re doing our job. Baffles me most years. We have exceptional people doing exceptional things.
The amount of support the boys and me personally have had in the last 36 hours has been amazing. The army truly is a special place, we rip each other across divisions and trades but when the worst happens we always have each other’s back. Thank you 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Another date in the diary we don’t like to remember but absolutely must always do so. On this date I was in Check Point 1 with my good mate Griff 96, the news came in that Dane had been killed. He was a Gdsm in my team in Kosovo a few years prior. Fantastic operator and full
I stole this sign when I was a young Guardsman after being thrashed for walking on the grass. It’s been in my shed ever since. Now pride of place in the new pad. 🤣💂🏻♀️
Black Sunday is our regimental Remembrance Day. My last one as a Sgt’s mess member. Next year I will be donning a bowler hat and an umbrella I’m not allowed to open. Great to have Mrs H along for the day for her to meet some officers wives.
Extremely fortunate to be offered the role of Unit Welfare Officer in the new year, I absolutely wanted to stay in Battalion for my first role as a Capt. I’ll be leaning in on my network for advice when needed. Last push to leave on 29th Dec. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Kings Guard Mount number 5 for me today for the month of May. Lucky to be able to take a day off mid week last week to make up for the bank holidays worked. Boys are tired but still producing everything that’s asked of them during “silly season”💂🏻♀️Dual Role, Excellence in action.
Fiercely proud of our dedication to the monarch. Preparing for the Kings Coronation on the sports pitches at Queens Ave. come rain or shine these members of the

23 years ago today I left sunny Blaenau Ffestiniog in search of something great. I began my career at the Army Foundation College, Harrogate and am still a great supporter of all they do. No regrets just great memories, 23rd year is looking great with commission pending. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️🏴
No better way to finish my time as a soldier and Warrant Officer than on St David’s Day. Now onto some down time before the new role starts on the 25th March.
When I was a young Guardsman looking for an inspirational leader to try and mimic this was it. We often joke about what good looks like….. there are no finer examples. Rest in Peace Sir. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️🏴
Major Sean Birchall, lost his life to an IED in Afghanistan on 19th June 2009.
Birchall was the officer commanding IX company of the welsh guards, who's motto was "dead men risen".
While out on a patrol, to check on the lads in other check points, he was unfortunately killed by
My wife’s grandad passed away yesterday after 94 years on this planet. Glad we got him home for his last wish to die in his house. Thanks
@NatashaMDay
for your help.
Such a fantastic man, intelligent funny and a heart of gold. At peace with his wife of 65 years now. 💂🏻♀️👸🏼
My wife’s grandad is 94 today, still going strong. The most intelligent man I’ve ever met. Even at his age he has a keen eye for detail especially in military engineering and history. Have a great day grandad we’ll see you later. Audax et velox 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Hard to believe 21 years ago I arrived at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate to begin my career. Unbelievably memories with great people, ordinary people doing un ordinary things. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
After weeks of rehearsal, soldiers of the Household Division delivered a magnificent spectacle for The King, the Nation, and the World in London: the 1st
King’s Birthday Parade in more than 70 years & the 1st Birthday Parade that the Sovereign has ridden on since 1986.

perfect salute to the front at the halt video had gone. I was instructed by higher to take it down as it was inappropriate. Apologies if anyone was offended for context I’ve known him 10 years and we thrive off our banter.
Invest in your soldiers; they will be forever grateful. Taught this young man some basic English on tour 9 years ago after school failed to identify his learning difficulties.

Dean Hughes joined the Army at 16, and has now become only the second WO2 in the history of the Welsh Guards to have commissioned into the infantry 🪖

I’ve been fortunate to meet some amazing people through work. One of which gave me his Ferrari for an upcoming trip to Ireland. My mums little council estate in wales has definitely never seen a Ferrari. I made sure the local kids got a good look and a rev of the 6.3 engine. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Great to see Stuart and Dane Elson at the review today. Was a great honour to arrange their tickets. Their son Dane was a Gdsm in my team in Kosovo and unfortunately was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. As a family regiment we continue to support our bereaved families. 🤣💂🏻♀️
Super proud of this spectacular woman I call my wife, SO1 Domestic, Long Haired General, 0A and more importantly my best friend. Smashing her new role at Surrey Police Force Control Room. Keeping people safe while others sleep. 💂🏻♀️👸🏼
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️🏴
Healing up nicely. 7 stitches after an hour surgical clean. The staff at

Wexham park hospital were fantastic. They are firm believers in the Military Covenant and got me seen as soon as they could. First time I’ve been asked if I’m serving or a veteran. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
I was actually dreading going sick with my knee, I’ve put it off for years but the pain has got unbearable. Very fortunate that my regiment take rehab and fixing people seriously. We have invested in infra and people to help us get back to being fit ASAP. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Had an interview today as part of the application for commission process. First time I’ve had an interview in 22+ years. Some sound advice and decent feedback from the Col interviewing. Get the troop and a holiday out the way then switch fire back to some planex and IRTBs. 💂🏻♀️🏴
Fantastic dine out in the Sgt’s Mess last night. Fortunate to be surrounded by great people, you can never anticipate the emotion and pride as you address the mess for the last time. Now onto the next chapter. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️🏴
Met and chatted to some Falklands Vets the last few days. Putting experiences into context and reminds me of a speech I once heard. In life we die twice, once when we physically die and again when we are forgotten about. Let’s not allow the latter to happen.

3 years today the worst night of my life, losing this great man hit us all but the support we all received was outstanding. Never forgotten mate 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️🏴
Find it hard to maintain a riding fitness V Infantry fitness V a passion for cake. Great session this morning. Lap of camp, 50 squats, lap, 40 lunges, lap, 30 press ups, lap 20 burpees, lap 10 pull ups, lap. This picture from

An absolute honour to dine out a great friend after 17 years being a member of the Sgt’s Mess, one more command appointment for him on the coronation then onto becoming the third ever Academy Sergeant Major from the Welsh Guards.

Great night at St James’s Palace celebrating the career of a fine Welsh guardsman. Darren Pridmore the original grey beard. My first dinner in Jimmies and some fantastic history up there.
Under estimated, under paid, over stretched and completely over scrutinised by the very people they serve. I take my hat off to these lot, keep up the good work and don’t let Karen with her NVQ level 1 in nail care tell you how to do your job while filming you for socials. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
This weekend, once again Police Officers will be taken away from the communities they police to deal with major events in Central London.
They will do so decisively and bravely but it won’t be portrayed that way for sure.
Thank you all again for your hard work.

I’ve not always got it right every time. One thing I will not fail on is fatherhood. My best mate growing to be a young man far too quickly. My boy, my mate and the reason for numerous overdrafts. 🤣💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️
Very honoured to received a Commendation on behalf of the General Officer Commanding 1st (UK) Division for a couple of things; Welsh Guards Slate, Enduro, Red Dragon Club, Championing Mental Health and my actions during Gav Hillier’s Fatal incident. Cymru am Byth 💂🏻♀️
It's the end of an era for the First Battalion Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
After two years at Episkopi Garrison, they hand over to the First Battalion of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.

Day 2 in the officers mess.
I’ll stop on day 4 🤣🤣
I’ve been educated on the fact only the Comd Offr and 2Ic can park directly outside the mess. I asked the adj where the sign was; they don’t need a sign 🤣
HOTO almost complete. Tomorrow the pads wives await 🤣💂🏻♀️
Work hard play hard. Finally have the car of my dreams, please meet Roxy the R8. 5.2 V10 of pure beauty. This toy has moved from office to office for 6 years. 🤣💂🏻♀️🏁
Great evening celebrating the pass off into the army for a family friend.

Rest in peace big man.
Perfection. Mrs Hughes and “Roxy” I know punching well above my weight. Date night followed by a roof down drive around beautiful Windsor. Life doesn’t get much better. 💂🏻♀️👸🏼🏎️

Day 3 in the big brother house. (Offr Mess)
With fire support from the padre I met the wives, big part of the UWO. Interesting to say the least.
Next stop local school, headmaster was great
Worth noting we now have salad cream and disarono in the mess.

Always a pleasure to have potential Welsh Guards officers in the mess for a visit. Also important that our mess has an input in their selection to our fine regiment.

They’re tired, they’ve had a busy year and really looking forward to Christmas leave on the 28th Dec; but they will, without fail, produce the very best every time they are asked. They’re Guardsman; better than you but too polite to say. 💂🏻♀️💂🏻♀️🏴
