@Socialist_Crow @cathalmcb @MarkSlater74 @owenjonesjourno @lmharpin Reasons to be cheerful. Local gov settlement better than hoped. Yes - growing demand for social services so some small budget gaps. BUT nothing near as bad as forecast. Nothing near as bad as under the Tories. NO we haven't got more austerity. Labour making a difference already.

In the context of 14 years of..., post Brexit, post pandemic, a broken economy and Sunak"s unfunded commitments, a more useful prediction would've been: Labour was always going to find it difficult to manage expectations. Get real. Things could be a lot worse.

@ThatTimWalker Reality is conditions are almost as challenging as post WW2 but now the RIGHT is on the move. Rebuilding will take time. When did we ever totally agree with the actions of any Labour Government? There are no 3 word fixes. Get behind this Government. Remember it's difficult. 2/2

Harrowing - but we should read this thread if we can.
1/ The horrific injuries and abuse that Sara Sharif suffered before her tragic death must be acknowledged in full to understand the severity of this failure. Is this a case about unsupervised homeschooling or is it a case of a dangerous man going from supervised contact to being awarded full residence by the Family Court? 🧵
