I’ll be watching the Super Bowl today, not so much for the game, but for the commercials and the culture around it. Football is undeniably exciting, but I just don’t have the stomach for it when I see a player take a brutal hit to the head. The potential for traumatic brain injuries isn’t just an NFL issue—it affects hundreds of thousands of high school and college athletes who take countless hits to the head, often with lifelong consequences, yet never make it to the #NFL. As a parent, you’d have to be crazy (or ignorant) to let your kid play high school tackle football. Most varsity football players will tell you—the only real lesson is how to take a hit. And the cost of learning that lesson can be devastating #SuperBowlLIX
