Today is now 27 years since I started @Technomic. I've watched this organization grow from a small #foodservice research consultancy with 35 people to now being part of a global organization with @InformaConnect. Very proud of what I've been a part of and what's still to come.

Inflation numbers today: restaurant prices continue to grow at rates higher than the rest of the economy, per BLS. Total away from home up 3.4%. Food at home (grocery) up 1.9%.

This is a cautionary tale for bars & bartenders: the tension between innovation and providing tried-and-true classics to patrons. "When every cocktail is an experiment in novelty, ordering feels like a gamble" - often tough to ask in this environment.

This has always been the big opportunity with CosMcs (IMO) - bring the innovation into the four walls of a McDonald’s restaurant once it’s been proven and refined.

McDonald's saying it remains "bullish on beverages" but follows that up with some interesting comments on CosMc's. Company says there is potential in that market but also notes discussions whether to open new locations or to capture potential within McDonald's locations. $MCD
