Tech guys with no real estate background trying to solve non-existent problems.
Contractors in the field would laugh you off the face of the Earth if you pulled out this drill on the job site. Nobody wants to scroll through a settings menu before they drill a single hole. I’m all for new tech and gadgets but Engineers often lose the essence of what they’re packing the tech into. Example: This drill by Robbox Tools has some slick software and a touch screen that allows you to drill level/plumb and certain angles. It also has a depth stop which is nifty. That’s just it though, these features are nifty at best. Skilled tradesmen have simple and effective ways to hit their mark and most times you don’t need 100% plumb pilot holes in the field. My guess is this will not do well at market and be discontinued shortly after.

Also - the usage limit prevents you from saving that much time.
OpenAI Operator is 90% amazing. Everything it starts, it does fairly well. But within an hour, it messes something up that’s fairly basic. It’s also very slow. If you have to do the same task over and over and can take hours watching Operator fail a task, re-engineer the prompt, and try again, it will save time. For doing basic things, it’s more hassle than it’s worth, for now.

@uncle_roi Good thoughts. I hope. I was so close to saving our time a week a month (!!) but it keeps tripping up.

@NickPtak Yep, that’s a good one. We don’t run into it much but I’ve heard they always corrode / leak.

This is amazing persistence. One of the the biggest mistakes in sales is getting in your head and assuming that, when you can’t get through to someone after a few tries, they know who you are, hate you, don’t want to speak with you, and never will. Bob would have never met Harry!
It is always a treat to see one of my commercial real estate heroes. Harry Macklowe was the guy I cold called at the beginning of my career for 2 and a half years without taking my call. Then, I called his office one night at 7pm after his assistant had left for the day. He picked up and when I introduced myself, he know exactly who I was. That was the start of a great relationship and over the years we have done 14 deals together for over $350 million. Harry is a great real estate developer and has a great sense of humor. Its always great to see you my friend!!

@sergiopAnsel @antonia_mdprjct @shawngorham @moseskagan @mwmoedinger @KCmolzer You should check to make sure they are actually the contractor of record… Yes, this has happened.

@natemcgrady When I run an air quality monitor in my home (or our apartments), an air purifier makes the air quality no better than running the fan on the HVAC (assuming a high quality, clean filter on the HVAC).
