A great Mariners season is over. Hey fans, thank you for tuning into our TV and radio b’casts and connecting on social media. We shall do it again next season. In the meantime, everyone be well, stay safe and be kind to one another. Go Mariners.
Now that’s a happy Mariners broadcast crew after an improbable comeback to beat Toronto to win the Wildcard series. It’s on to Houston. Hey Now, Hey Now, Hey Now!!!!!!!!!!
Two African-American young men win MLB Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Awards from the BBWAA: the Mariners Kyle Lewis in the AL and Milwaukee’s Devin Williams in the NL. Given the happenings of 2020 concerning Black men, this is a BIG DEAL. Feels good to smile for a change.
Yippie! Back to work at Safeco Field, exactly a month after surgery. Starting slowly, doing the first three innings on TV today, Saturday and Sunday; radio Friday, innings two through four. All for the four-game series with Detroit. Go Mariners!
I am honored, thrilled and humbled to accept this award from the National Sports Media Association. My warmest congratulations to the terrific Gregg Bell
@gbellseattle
for being named Washington state Sportwriter of the Year. Thanks to the nice folks for their congratulations.
So great to see my friends Eric Young, Sr. & Ron Washington with the Braves in Seattle for the weekend. They are MLB’s only African-American duo working the 1B & 3B base coaching boxes. It was a dream of Jackie Robinson and many others to see this.
Ed Coleman retired yesterday from WFAN, the nation’s first all-sports radio station after a 35-year run. We manned mid-days from 1989 to 1992. Great friend, co-host with personality, humanity and killer jump shot. What a do-it-all pro. All the best to Eddie C in retirement.
Loved watching Willie play. And to think I got to interview him on my Coors show in 1986. Around that time, I actually was one of the lucky guys who played softball with him in a charity event in NY. So many of the greats from my youth are gone. Love ya Willie.

It’s unanimous, Mariners b’casters dig the new Nike City Connect unis. The players debut them at home next Friday, and, wear them for every home Friday tilt. We’re at Rogers Centre, scene of the a spectacular Wildcard victory last October. Place is filling up and ready to rock.
Throwing the first pitch last weekend was a special moment, reflecting on the journey and contributions of African American trailblazers. As the 5th African American broadcaster in MLB history, I’m honored to be part of this legacy. Let’s keep making history together!

What had Dusty Baker and I laughing on May 6 last season?
I was giving him the business on the 2022 ALDS series that ended in a 1-0 18-inning Houston clincher. Dusty: "We were more afraid of you guys than anyone.." Me: 'We had your a****!' Dusty: 'yeah, and you let us go!'
T-Mobile Park, for the 3rd consecutive night, is rocking to “Country Roads” by the late John Denver…which brings back memories for me at my alma mater, Bethany College, in WEST VIRGINIA!
Welcome to the Hey Now! Podcast, hosted by yours truly, Dave Sims, alongside my sons, Jarett and Jordan.
Join us as we sit down with some of my closest friends to share their stories and uncover the keys to success!

Great to see NBA 6th Man great Jamal Crawford....20-year career....55th all-time in scoring...super job tossing out the first pitch before the Astros
@Mariners
Friday night
My late dad, Ulysses S. Sims, would be indescribably thrilled right now. Here's to you Pop..for all those games you took me to as a kid. Thank you. Thank you! Fly Eagles Fly!!!!!!!!!
Great way to stay warm and fly the colors from the Mariners TV booth with this terrific scarf from The Team Store here at T-Mobile Park. Man, it’s so good to have fans back in the ballpark!!!
A Star is Born —Mitch Haniger, 2-run walkoff homer, beats the Angels, 8-6. Mariners sweep. Now 20G beyond .500. He homered in the rain as the roof was closing at Safeco Field. Wowza!
Kelenic’s 8th inning prodigious CF upper-deck HR at Wrigley went an estimated 482-feet/111.7mph/31-degree launch angle. It’s the longest homer here in the Statcast Era (2015) surpassing Javier Baez481-footer Aug. 23, 2018. HEY NOW!
Hooray for my son Jordan! He drained six of nine shots from deep to win Alaska Airlines FF Miles at the Stanford/Washington Women’s game Friday night in Seattle. Dude, great form-as usual! 🙋🏾♂️💯❤️
Not a
@Mariners
fan but a fan of a great moment.
@TheDaveSimsShow
congratulations on a great call and adding to the drama the moment for the ball club-
Great stuff!
Smile Mariners fans..and do it broadly for the rest of the day after a stunning 2-1 come-from-behind win in completing a three-game sweep in Oakland. Ninth inning, four walks, two wild pitches, and no-hits and a victory. Wow.
@TheDaveSimsShow
Sir, in case you were wondering myself and the millions of mariners fans across the world are looking forward to hearing you broadcast baseball games again.
C’mon Dave, nothing!
“Black Lives Matter” is a reminder and simple declarative fact we count in the whole of humanity, that we are valued, which is something that hasn’t vocalized as a priority until recent times. We are not fodder for abuse and for unarmed target practice.
Castillo out to start the 8th inning. He’s been dominant against the power-laden Blue Jays, six-hit shutout with five strike outs. He’s K’d three consecutive four of the last six.
Great time working with friend and MLB Network star, Harold Reynolds on the first game of the Mariners/Angels split DH. H brought great insight, energy and analysis to the b’cast. Mike Trout, of course, did-in the M’s again with a 2-run 10th inning homer for the 4-2 win.
You're a good man Mike Zunino. It was a pleasure interacting with you during your time with the Seattle Mariners. All the best to you, Alyssa and soon to arrive lil Z!
Happy Father's Day to all the incredible fathers out there! Working on the HeyNow! Podcast with my two sons, Jarett and Jordan, feels like celebrating Father's Day every week!

Well done Seattle! Just heard that Chief of Police, Carmen Best, has called off the 9p curfew, because protesters continue to march peacefully. Bravo!!!
It’s happened again: “Country Roads” takes the Mariners into the 8th inning, the fans choice, and no doubt, and choice of the superstitious at T-Mobile Park with the Mariners on a 7-game win streak.
Happy Jackie Robinson Day! Thank you, Jackie, for paving the way.
@TheDaveSimsShow
owes his

broadcasting career to you, Larry Doby, and those who followed your lead.

The great Hall of Famer Joe Morgan passed away Sunday in his California home at age 77. He visited Rick Rizzs and me August 19, 2019 at Minute Maid Park. Man, did he have some great stories. Another terrible loss to MLB and sports world. RIP Joe.
So sad to see that the great Bill Walton has passed away. Enjoyed meeting him at the 2013 Pac12 Tourney in Las Vegas. I really liked him on CBB telecasts. He was a guest a few years back on “Basketball&Beyond w/Coach K” on SiriusXM doing an incredible stream of consciousness.
Big thanks EastCoastM's! Was such a pleasure to call Nellie's Mariners homers. Most importantly, he's one of the best guys I've ever met in the sports world.
Ranking Dave Sims’ calls in this Nelson Cruz clip (favorite to least favorite):
1. “Goodbyeeee”
2. “Money’s Worth”
3. “Upper tank, yes sir”
4. “BOOMSTICK BABY”
5. “Hey now”
6. “Look at this baby”
7. “Wow”
Mr.Sims, you’re a legend🫡
This is long but I don’t know where else to put it.
Spending all day in Willie Mays’ home state learning about the great only to find out that he died that day while watching a ballgame at the first ballpark in which he ever played professionally was surreal and I still haven’t
So great having former Mariner “The Bartender” Tom Wilhelmsen and his wife Cassie stop by the Mariners radio booth for visit on Labor Day. Tom is a delightful guy who lights up the room. He had many a good time coming out of the M’s pen.
Kenny Mayne, sports anchor legend and pride of Kent, WA, popped in to visit in the Mariners 710 radio booth. He’s co-emcee with Angie Mentink, for the Washington Sports Star of the Year Banquet tomorrow night in Seattle.

Prez of The Negro League Baseball Museum in Kansas City joined us with his strong hat game and fabulous stories, to celebrate Juneteenth, and the Seattle Steelheads. The M’s 6-5, 10th inning win thx to Mitch Haniger’s RBI single ended a fun nite.
