As far as Europeans are concerned, the CJEU already pointed out that national security cannot be used to blindly enable violations of Charter rights. The Commission must uphold this and act.
In a draft document seen by @politico, the @EU_Commission confirms the obvious – that member states should not and cannot use national security as a blank check for spyware use. If finalized, this would be the Commission's first position on spyware abuse.
