Being among these truly inspirational students was unreal. Crying & screaming for their livelihoods as people who couldn’t even keep track of what they were voting on scowled at them. I’m proud to be (for at least another 7 months) part of THEIR university.
Witnessing WVU students protest in this meeting while holding my 11-week old West Virginian is the most powerful thing I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life. No matter how dark this feels, there is hope for the future.

never fails to surprise/annoy me that grad school applicants basically get criticized for not having been in grad school yet and students (in undergrad!) are ridiculed for not knowing how to write in weird esoteric academic styles despite literally never being taught how to do so
I genuinely think some folks in Higher Ed forget that their job is to *teach* students how to think critically & prefer instead to complain that students aren’t yet on their level, as if students should somehow have an academic skill set that took faculty 10+ years to develop.
